Sandisk 32GB ?

hello,
can you tell me if there is huge difference between: Sandisk 32GB Ultra 15MBS and Sandisk 32GB Extreme 30 mb;
is there only difference in speed 15mbs vs 30 mbs?
DO you thing in recording terms this is very big difference?
if you could help me to understand the main pros and cons will be great...

In your camera there wont be much difference, a few extra shots in a burst and a bit faster to clear the buffer. Only important if you ever fill the buffer (most people never get close). The big difference will be that the 30mbs card will download 32gb of data to your computer much faster than the 15mbs card - approx twice as fast. 32gb will take a very long time with 30mbs and a very very long time with 15mbs.

Why do you want a 32gb card anyway, seems a lot of data to loose?

P.s. Forget video you need a much faster card to record that (60mbs)

so what card do you suggest, i am looking for a card for both pictures and video,
mostly i do photography,(camera i use 60D)
should i take to different cards for both?
what do you suggest?

Is price an issue? If not something from sandisk or lexar which is at least 60mbs (400x I think). I would suggest multiple 8gb cards rather than 1 32gb. Less to loose if a card goes bang IMO.

If price is important I think both transcend and duracell have a reasonable reputation as does Kingston so loo at what you can get in those ranges.

Also look at a UDMA card reader (ideally USB 3 or one that fits in an express port on a laptop) USB 2 is limited to approx 30MBs download rate so where as you'll get the recording benefit of faster cards you won't get the benefit on download.

I shoot RAW on a 7D and use a couple of 32GB cards simply because I can't get enough shots on the smaller ones. With an 8GB card, for example, I'd be looking at 300 to 350 shots only.

I have the Lexar USB3 reader and it maxes my cards at around 58MB/s transfer rate.

Ye, i meant that the cheap readers like £5 off ebay won't download at those speeds ( just to give the OP the heads up )

Oh I know, I was just pointing out that, if you want to max the latest 60MB/s+ cards, the Lexar reader is the one to use - to my knowledge it's the only USB3 reader available right now.

Sandisk do have an adapter which goes into the computer which can transfer at 90mb/s

Don't know what the Lexar one is capable of - a friend has a Sandisk Extreme Pro 90MB/s card but I've yet to try it.
