Samyang 14mm f2.8 - on par with Nikon/Canon?

I was wondering if anyone has experience of the Samyang 14mm f2.8? I'd never heard of it before but someone mentioned it to me recently and supposedly it's not far off Nikon & Canon's best 14mm f2.8 offerings, all for only £300 or so!

So, anyone got one or used one? Curious to know just how good it is wide open. I fell in love with the Nikon 14-24 recently when I borrowed one for my Hawaii trip. But the Samyang would make a good cheap wide field astrophotography lens if it really is as good as I am led to believe!

Was going to suggest the Siggy 15mm but it's a fisheye and has a wider FOV than the Samyang which might not be your thing.
Siggy has AF though.
 
The Samyang lenses are meant to be pretty good from what I've read, I've been tempted by the 85mm 1.4 for quite a while, it's only the fact that it's auto focus that puts me off.
 
The MTF charts are so amazing that I'm considering to buy one for myself.
It's much sharper than the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II, sharper than a Canon 14mm f/2.8 L II (I know it sounds weird) and not far from the amazing Nikon 14-24mm. I'm just talking about sharpness of course, since a lens is much more than that.

The distortion control is not that good on the Samyang and the colours are more pleasant on the Canon and Nikon lenses.
The build quality, although nice for the price, is far from the quality you get on the professional lenses.

Obviously there's also no AF.
