I'm slowly but surely moving from Nikon to Fuji and the Samyang is on the wish list, mainly for astro stuff. From what I've read about this lens, it's great.... if you get a good one. In the past, I've bought nearly everything used but the regular tales of de-centering with this lens means I'll buy it new so that it can be swapped if need be. To be honest it cost barely any more new than used anyway.

The dilemma I have is whether to fork out £268 with Amazon uk or £219 with E-Infinity for a grey import. I'm sure if I buy from Amazon, the returns process will be pain free. E-infinity have good customer service reviews but my assumption would be that it would be a longer process. That would be a risk I'd take if problems with this lens are relatively unusual but I don't have a feel for that. £50 isn't a huge difference but I have quite a long list of kit to replace and £50 here and there could make a big difference.

Does anyone have any wisdom on the subject?

Nearly £100 more than E-Infinity.

Play it like the lens will be good from the start in my opinion and go with the cheapest. If it were only 20% more, then fair enough, but it’s nearly 40%![emoji50]

It's gone up £40 since the link was posted earlier. I am leaning towards the import price but if a few people had popped up saying they had to by 6 before they found a good one, I might change my mind!

On a related note, how does one check for a de-centering issue? I assume it simply that lens sharpness is inconsistent across the frame.
