yeah.... matt didn't take to the pastry...but thanks... there's something about those shoes... i took a few shots varying the flash and distance from the subjects.... drove me silly.... then the cat came in and sat in the scene....so i gave up.. :(
 
should have got the cat with the shoes then :lol:

I really like this, and I agree with other comments, that the concept is great.... and the shoes are very nice indeed!....
However, I feel there's just a little too much empty space, as my eye is drawn to the carpet pattern, especially the bit at the front....that bit could have been darker...
Still a good image though...

I have to agree...as my own worst critic...I was shooting it thinking Damn rug....Damn rug...!!! I moved the shot around but couldn't really move the piano... I thought about sliding a plain something under just that area...but had nothing plain to hand...didn't want anything that id spend ages taking wrinkles out of like cloth etc... I'm aiming for another shot hopefully tonight..

I don't think you needed to change a great deal....I personally would have cropped it so that the shoe is closer to the bottom of the frame...that way, you look at the shoe first and the rug after...or try and have it so it's more just a spot light on the shoes and piano pedal, leaving the rest darker...
Failing that...reshoot it lol!....probably be easier.
A piece of black card would have worked probably...

Again I know what you mean... I moved the flash around by varying degrees... I have other shots I could see how they came out..

My second take on music is..well...I'm being coaxed very sweetly into doing a self portrait... So we'll see...

I have a couple of lovely ladies that come in and give the house a clean a couple of times a week, oh how I hate cleaning
