weekly Samuelslade007 TP 52 Class of 2016 .... the beginning of the End. FINISHED

Hi Frank - sorry you appear to be another who slipped through the net on my last commenting spree - apologies !

Happy - Very good - made me smirk - he looks happier than a pig in **** ! :D

Abandoned - How dark - love it! The building itself looks abandoned, but that message takes a whole new twist - Great lighting and contrast in the capture too - well done

Camo - lovely image and a great interpretation

Dangerous - Given the number of horror films ive watched - definitely concur its scary / dangerous and your a brave man being there to take it - as Abandoned (is it the same place?) great lighting and contrast with added subliminal message

Topical - excellent well taken portrait - loving the contrast in this one too

Living World - solid interpretation and capture

Spiky - probably my least favorite of your submissions to date - cant quite put my finger on it, but it is spiky !

np Jon, thanks for the great feedback... it is the same site, not the same building so the opportunity for more horrifying images might arise in the future weeks...

I;m not happy with Spiky as i was trying to get the blue skies beyond in better focus, yet be OOF... if that makes sense... maybe i should quickly reshoot it..though the plants are currently residing over 4 hours away from me after they got an injunction served on me for publishing this image without their consent... never work with children, animals and spiky potted plants....

Hi Frank. I like them both for different reasons. The quirky angle of Artificial had me turning my head trying to fathom out how to look at the image - lovely woodgrain texture and starburst effect of the lights. Lighting & DoF make Personal ... as well as the message itself of course.

Both great idea's Sammy, and different interpretations, just as I would expect

Hi Sammy....I'm loving your shots for the challenge.
Artificial has a wonderful rich feel to it especially, and personal...well, just yes...very personal.

Artificial is lovely. In reference to man-made religion or something?

tbh David... i was going for the contrast between natural light barely coming in through the on high windows and the artificial light of the 'candles' ... but yeah....you have a good case for man-made religion.. (y)

thansk carl , i deliberately went for the starburst, i got to place the camera on the wood so the grain was noticeable, as for quirky that came with the territory .. i keep meaning to note the settings by each pic... i'll go back and do it..

There is so much to look at in your artificial shot with the many angles and lines - very engaging!

thanks emma , beauty of a stone building like a cathedral, there will always be so much to look at in just one shot..

Both excellent, artificial has great detail and you have used the light to great effect and in personal the DoF is spot on love the OOF Mary? in the BG

Two great shots for Artificial and Personal. The lines and angles really make the Artificial shot and you've captured a lot of detail in difficult lighting conditions.

That certainly fits the theme!
More applause from me :-)

Some of those images in Photo24 look amazing Frank - obviously as a result of great effort on your part. Brilliant.

Hi, some great images you have put up recently .
Artificial is shot a great angle makes you looks and realise there is lots too take in.
Personal is very good, quite beautifully done .Nice touch with the figure in the background.
Effort, wow lots to look at and take in. excellent

Suitably wacky collection of pics. (y)

I like the way they fit/fade-into the frame.

Efforts fab.
Techno works a treat too.

Gaz

Interesting selection of images so far. I'll certainly be keeping a closer eye on your thread :)
Just a few from me...

Like the shallow DoF and lighting on Miniature. Like the vignetting too - it makes me think the two armies are huge.
Abandoned is a cracking shot. Slightly unsettling too. Good stuff (y)
Looks like Dangerous is a similar location to Abandoned. Another one that leaves me a touch unsettled if I were there. Good atmosphere.
Spiky is just that but doesn't work for me as an image - just too much black.
Lovely detail in Artificial and the starbursts work well to fit the theme.
Technology just about works I think but I would like to see the chap in the BG a little less OOF I think.

I look forward to more :)

Nice choice and composition Frank. I like the washed-out colours.

A shed, you have a shed...ya lucky b****r :)

Like it. I like the vintage processing and feel it could stand a closer crop on the sander.

Yeah, works for me.

Cheers.

Liking that Frank the colour treatment works really well
