Samsung tablet opinions

Hi folks,

'er indoors has been pestering me for a tablet and as I've just had a nice little tax rebate (many thanks HMRC ) I thought I'd treat her. She has a Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus phone so I was thinking a Galaxy Tab2 10.1 would be easy for her to transition to. Her use would be Internet browsing, emails, facebook and e-reading with a bit of music listening thrown in for good measure.

I've read quite a few reviews and frankly I wonder how some of them can have been of the same device as others - results are like chalk and cheese

So, do any of you good folks use/own one and feel willing to express an opinion?

Can't say yay or nay to Samsung but I would suggest letting her play with one in a shop to see if the feel and weight are acceptable.

I love my tab 8.9. If I was buying tomorrow I'd probably go for the nexus 7. Although smaller it will be updated a lot quicker to latest versions of Android

I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 sitting on a shelf gathering dust. I replaced it with the latest iPad. My biggest gripe, and there are a few, is the lack of quality apps in Google Play.

Save your money and get a Nexus 7.
