Samsung tab s multiple apps problem with YouTube

I've recently purchased some more expensive headphones to go with my tablet and to take advantage I've downloaded music volume eq to act as a graphic equaliser. The only problem is that you tube stops running when I open the eq app.

Can anyone please explain how to get YouTube to continue playing so I can tweak the sound output
