Samsung Galaxy SIII

What do you find disappointing about it?

It's basically what everyone was expecting so I don't see what there is to be disappointed about. A better camera would have been nice but that's about it.

Compared with the SII....

The screen is bigger at a higher resolution.
Processor is a quad core v dual core
It can take 64gb as opposed to 32gb sd
Will come with 16/32/64gb internal v 16gb
Version 4 bluetooth against Version 3
Has 54Mbit/s wifi A (5GHzband) as well as the standard b/g/n
plus loads of other stuff

It's a little more rounded on the corners than the SII, if that makes it ugly in your eyes so be it but it hardly seems any different to me.

I don't understand the mentality of having a phone screen size that dwarf's your hand and would be ridiculous in the pocket.

I kind of agree, I used a 5" Dell streak for a long time and while it was ok when it was all I had it never really made it in both camps, being either too big or too small. I now use a 10" tablet for internet outside and a basic Desire as my phone. The downside there being the tablet is not pocketable.

The S3 is just the Galaxy Nexus in a new body with a bit of a subtle tech refresh imho (quad core) and some gimmiky new software additions.

I have the GN and the HTC One X screen blows it away..... so the S3 disappoints on that front.

As for the S3 now being larger than the GN, oh dear..... My GN is borderline too big as it is. Android phone screen sizes are now akin to the megapixel war where the manufacturers assume that everyone just wants bigger, bigger, more and more.

4inch is is probably the sweet spot, but HTC, Samsung etc obviously know best! :cuckoo:

Had my S2 for a while now and am thoroughly sick of the bloody thing. Roll on end of contract when i can go back to an iphone! Samsung never again!

Agree on nexus in new body but don't think screen in X is much better - depends what you like.

4 inch is too small - again what you like. (iPhone is too small for my likening ) nexus is just right.

S3 is a disappointment and HTC will now take a big bite out of samsungs mobile phone market...

Everyone was expecting more, revolutionary device....

Having had the Samsung galaxy nexus, 4.8" screen's to big for an everyday phone and I have bigger than average hands ,hence why I no longer have it . Have to say also that I'm no lover of the rounded corners, in my experience it makes it harder to hold.

I wonder if the build quality's been addressed, the SGs11 isn't best by a. Long way !! . Everyone has different tastes I suppose.

Galaxy s2 dimensions - 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.4mm or 129.8 x 69.6 x 9.65mm (16 or 32gb model)
Galaxy s3 dimensions - 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm

Not a huge difference. The bezel around the screen has been made smaller.

It's probably OK for me, but they should make an option of vanilla android. I had enough of HTC-ness and won't want any added crap. There is always an option of custom ROM

Surprised at this, I bloody love mine.

Thought the GSII was big at first but it's thin enough it always fits in a pocket and the screen size has been useful for looking things up on the move.

Only thing I find annoying's the squareness, which they've reduced and that might make up for the slight size increase.

The S2 is the best phone I've owned, and I include the classic Nokia 6230i in my extensive list!

Looking forward to an s4 in 14 months time when my contracts up. ..

Well TBH i was disappointed when i first heard the specs as it was exactly 'what i was expecting'.
Reading later though, all the other changes and small upgrades to the phone you discover what a beast it really is. I have pre-ordered mine :)

I'm coming from my SGS2 too
