Samsung galaxy s2 ics problem

Does anyone have any problems with ics? My messages don't work at all.

What type of messages, SMS, MMS or both?

What network are you on?

Have you checked there are not problems with your network in your area?

You may find you need to re-enter your settings again manually.

Also some times powering down your SGS2 and then removing and replacing your SIM card can help

Not having any problems myself mind.

Try anothet messenger app, i use handcent

no problems at all with mine............!!

I'm on O2 and keep reading that ICS is available for 02...but I can't update

Connect with a USB cable through Kies , not Kies air and it should be there. Doesn't do it through Kies air.

Kies has had an update in the last few weeks, and ics won't install until you're running the latest version - force it to update, then see how you get on. I just kept plugging and unplugging the USB lead until I finally got the ics upgrade option

Hi, think I have the latest version of Kies: 2.3.0.12035_16 and it says I have the latest version. I'll redownload and see if any change.

Cheers.

Im on o2 and i just went to phone settings - About phone - software update - then update, worked for me last week.

Those of you who are on O2 and can't update to ICS despite others saying the update is available is because, although many people don't realise it, there are currently two varients of the Galaxy S2 in the uk.

The older one has got the update (GT-I9100), the newer one (GT-I9100G) has NFC, a newer chipset which improves battery life and is still on gingerbread.

My wife has the newer one and I have the old one. I've had the update for weeks, she still hasn't got it. From what I understand, the update is coming so hang tight.

Looks like their are 3 versions...mine is a GT-19100P...

Sorry Andy, I meant P. My wife's phone is indeed a GT-I9100P with NFC from O2. Don't know where I got G from!

Although you have to wait a bit longer for your updates, your battery life (compared to my phone) i reckon is about 20% better at least.

And since I updated to ICS, GPS kills the battery considerably more for some reason.

Battery life generally is about the same, though when I first upgraded seem worse, apparently the upgrade resets some battery calibration and it takes a while to level out - that is certainly my experience.

Ics has been running quite well on my vodafone handset. Only thing I get everynow and then is " internet has stopped working" especially in connection with the facebook app. Other than that it is quite good.
