Samsung Equivalent of the Pentax Remote Assistant, Does it exist?

Hi all,

I am relativly new here and to Photography so please bear with me!

I own a Samsung GX-10, bought due to it being a near clone to the K10D. (please, I know a lot of people seem to get touchy about the Pentax Vs Samsung thing, I am not interested! I bought it as it is a decent camera on a budget with a wide range of available lenses and perfect for my first DSLR. Excuse my abruptness, I am bored of finding endless threads arguing over it in various forums!!! :bang

The K10D has remote assitant available to download from the pentax website to drive the carmera from a PC/Laptop.

Is ther anything like this I can use for my GX-10. I have tried the pentax software but as I expected it did not work.

Any help and suggestions welcome,

did you try updating your firmware to 1.2?

the talk is that it allows you to use remote assistant 3

Ill take a look at what firmware I am running and see if I can get it to work. Ill post once done.

I'd like to know if it works for you, as for me I'm stuck at the install stage: it's asking for a CD, and it says it can't find Pentax Digital Camera Utility...
