No
I have no editing experience and not looking for anything fancy.

But our little one along with his group from the ante-natal group are doing a joint birthday party.

Somehow I've managed to say I'll do it, but not sure best way and how.
I have Photoshop Elements 8 on Mac (no experience), (does Mac come with something like Paint on PCs)?

My other thought is maybe just use my work laptop (hope it has Paint), do circle cuts of the heads and then copy image into Microsoft Word. Would this be the easiest and best way, as I can picture doing it this way.

What I'm after will be to do cut and circle out the babies heads and put on one page, along with writing like Happy 1st Birthday.

So any thoughts, help, advice would be appreciated.

I think the other half is thinking of getting the cake from Tesco, will the image needed to be printed or on a soft copy (not sure what file type).

edit: sample of what i'm trying to acheive below

thanks

i might take you up on the offer, but the only thing is obviously i don't have consent from other parents

hhmm?

might need to take you up on the offer, but will have ago in elements 8 myself first.

asked tesco's and they require a picture printed, no memory cards just in case of viruses etc.

so i'll have a dabble in elements 8.
they said they can add boarders and writing, so might just concentrating aiming to get baby faces all on one blank page.

as a complete novice on Elements 8 and post processing I've managed to open a blank page and set it to landscape photo 4x6 or 5x7 to play around and have managed to cut and copy baby heads on there.

question, does the following look like it was done on PP or Tesco cake software, as i was told they can add text?

also how do i get stars like the sample pic too.

any advice on:
- Text like the sample
- Stars on the sample?

just worked out the adding text. bit fiddly understanding moving, resize etc. but got something ok.

just need to know how to add colour stars

anyone any ideas on maybe where i might be able to find stars similar to copy and paste in?

I googled "stars for photoshop" and got this. http://www.photoshopbrushes.com/brushes/28.htm

Click on the words "stars photoshop brushes" in the picture and it will let you download some stars brushes. If you're not sure how to get them working let me know. Here is a pic of some examples. You can size them big or small and choose any color.

sweet thanks

i'll have ago when i get home.

once downloaded, can i open and get these in elements 8 and if so how and how to change colours too?

thanks just copy and pasted it

Get them working?

yeah got it done. it was almost a replication to the above

very happy with it, although when printed on the cake paper it came out darker and when i set the template in elements at 5x7 and printed it in 4x6 thinking it would resize to fit, how wrong was I LOL
