Daily ~Sam~'s 365 - one day at a time

Good shapes & colour, at least you're still shooting.

Thank you, Sarah - at least I am but it feels like that book right now, eats, shoots and leaves!! Or eats shoots and leaves, whatever!

I'm kind of determined at the moment, but that might be the two vodka and cokes!!! :D

Catching up with your shots Sam...

Very nice flower shot on Day 23 with the water droplet really adding to the pic. The choc shot on Day 24...mmmm...hope you've left some for all of us ;).

Really REALLY love the arches shot on Day 25...would look really nice hung on the wall, cracking shot.

Great colour on the fake flower on Day 26, and the pastels shot is very nice, lighting spot on and captured the colours beautifully.

Really good capture of the street, would also work well in black and white :).

Nice cycle heritage shots too....great detail and lovely shot of the bikes lined up.

Loving the shot of Nottingham on Day 31, it's a place I've been to once, only for an hour or so to do a shoot with an actor at the theatre. Loving the DOF in today's shot hehehe and then scrolling down slightly to see the scary chaser staring out.

Great work hun and here's to month 2

Simon, thank you so much for taking time to look through my photos, I really appreciate that and your comments :)

P.S. I raise my glass back at you in a toast to another frustrating yet fulfilling month! :)

I used to love scrapbooking! Then I grew up and couldn't rely on my mum to buy me ink for my printer. That = no photos to scrapbook with

Well I did scrapbooking but the digital kind - even designed kits and embellishments an sold them on the internet but after 7 years I gave it up - still do the odd kit now and again for my own photos mainly but dont design anymore.
Great shot though Sam :)

Carol, I'd LOVE to get into digital scrapbooking... it's so expensive though :( Although paper scrapbooking is moreso!

if you want any kits let me know ..... I have hundreds of them all saved onto my external hard drive - all are designed by me so dont need to worry about piracy rules etc :D

Some really varied stuff in your thread Samantha. Of the recent shots I think that the arches, the pastels and the balustrades really stand out for me.
I quite like spotting and capturing patterns that are all around us, and you have managed that very well in those shots.

See, I rather like today's shot, a bit ambiguous, lines, curves and colour - what's not to like  DOF is sopt on too ;)

hey, Carol, I know your reply wasn't addressed to me, but I'd be interested in seeing a couple of your designs and prices, please - I've thought about digiscrapping in the past but never gave it a go....

Catching up...
28 and 31 are the stand-out recent ones....
Composition in 28 is great...
31, is it a subtle HDR as there is a perhaps some halo-ing around the church spire...

Thanks, Jeff! :) Yeah, I need to sort that halo out! I just don't know how!

....because I either cheat or sulk! :naughty::naughty:

I prefer being out and about with my camera so it surprises me that I have so many close ups etc - maybe when I fully come out of hibernation that will change. I'm not totally sure about this one, but the cat didn't want to model! :)

I da like that Sam, might have been tempted to have the dominoes going away from me with the narrow dof.

Yeah, I know....I got a bit frustrated and grumpy and called it a day, but I should have taken a bit more time over this. I totally see what you are saying - at least with a shot like this I can revisit and make some changes! :)

I have had a drink or two and am awaiting the delivery!

Was it an HDR based on converting a single exposure? Or did you actually bracket off a number of shots?
Also what software did you use to create the final image?

3 shots at different exposures, using exposure compensation to a half stop either side of the default.

Thats Good Sam and i don't blame you for having a night off!

Has no one ever told you not to mix your drinks Sam?

Nice shot Sam and dont blame you for the night off :)
