Daily ~Sam~'s 365 - one day at a time

Squidgets!!!.....:D:D:love: it.......

those pawny baulstrades look really cool but a cute squidget wins...

Ps..... Don't listen to men!:nono::nono:

I like both of today's I can see why you took them both  I like the lining up of the stone work  and that street looks like a drag strip  what's that blue colours in the sky?

Thanks, Matt! I think that blue stuff in the sky is what happens when we don't have 99% cloud cover:lol:

like them both but am veering towards the 'squidget' as a fave :D

Thanks, Carol - I think most prefer the squidget! :)

I like the processing on the street shot. And while I like the patterns and curves of the balustrades - the squirrel is the winer for me of those two.

Thanks, Lynn!

Thanks, T! I rarely really listen to men....I just pretend to!

O.K., so I live in Nottingham, which in days gone by was a manufacturing town/city - we had lace, we had textiles and we had bicycles....

So, here's to that heritage...

And just to show we at least sell 'em here...

Like the first! Only been to Nottingham once! What a nightmare to drive around with all the one way systems! Michael McIntyre was worth it mind!

Thanks, Jake - and, yes the road system is a nightmare now!

Some nice shots, but really liking day 28. That's a really nicely composed shot

Excellent, love the bicycle heritage shot. Hubby is a cyclist & he likes it as well. You'll have to let us know where it as as we can add it to our things to see when we are out and about this year :)

Thanks, Sarah :)

The photo was taken in a small park in Beeston and, honestly, probably not somewhere you'd go to as there's not much there at all! I'll take a shot of the whole thing and ping it across to you tomorrow when I'm there and you'll see what I mean!

thats a nice shot of the heritage plaque Sam ...... never been to Nottingham though OH lived there for a while

I do like that, lovely colours.

Thanks, Sarah! :)

Thanks, Carol - come up some time and I'll show you around! :)

Only seeing this now, Sam you win!

Nice sculpture yesterday too by the way.

I win, I win! Yay! Not often that happens! Thanks for your comment as well, Phil! :)

So....day 31.

I went up to the top of the car park this morning....who'd have guessed it would be THAT windy!

I kind of like the juxtaposition between old and new (the tram v the architecture) so....here's a little bit of Nottingham! Plus, blue sky? Really? Wow!

Wow, love the contrast of colours between the sky and the red brick. Also that big bank of cloud looks very pretty.

love this one Sam :D and that sky? .... gorgeous blue and the clouds look great - break up that patch of sky just right

love the detail in the sculpture, cracking shot

Thank you, Colin! :)

Thanks, Sarah - I saw that we actually had a sky this morning and wanted to take advantage of that - turned out it was the right decision! That bank of cloud was just a happy addition! :)

Really like that shot Sam! One thing lets it down for me though - halos!

Thanks, Jake - I just thought....halos? Around an ex-church? Hey, that must be a symbol! :p:D Then, I thought to myself, hell, just post it, only Jake would notice...................:lol:

Juxta what! Like the idea and it works I always miss shots like this, yet when we look back over archives from 50 years ago its this kind of shot that will be there!

Catching up, so a few to review, over the past 4-5 days. i think #28 and 29 are my favs! Great composition in both.

Now that's lovely Sam... so nice to have a bit of blue sky too!

Posh word for putting things side by side, quite often to show a difference..I hardly ever get to use it and had to do a spell check to make sure I got it right! Thanks for your comments! :)

Thanks, Tim, glad you like those! :)

Love the bike sculpture  I think that's works well  I do like the concept of today's and it could make a good theme/subject to look out for in future photo's that new vs old

Thanks Matt, glad you like the concept and it is one that kind of interests me as well....what didn't work about the photo for you? Too processed?

Now that's lovely Sam... so nice to have a bit of blue sky too!

Thanks, T - it was the best blue sky I have seen since somewhere in November! :D

Well done to all of you who have completed the first month:woot::woot::banana:

I am starting to struggle as I have limited time out, limited creative juices and limited imagination......so much so that I had NO idea what to do for today, so I went for another failed hobby! I did warn you I had many!!

I flirted with scrapbooking for a while, but realised that I prefer to just have my photos without all the other crap littering the page! :D Never really got the hang of it, to be honest, but still have some 'embellishments' which you supposedly stuff into/onto a piece of paper..................now, as I have NO imagination, I took this as a sign to maybe carry on. It's the quickest of quickies I have taken yet, a little out of kilter, a little out of focus, a little uninteresting, so bear with me, please.............

Nice colours and shapes in todays Sam even though I have no idea what they are :D

Catching up with your shots Sam...

Very nice flower shot on Day 23 with the water droplet really adding to the pic. The choc shot on Day 24...mmmm...hope you've left some for all of us ;).

Really REALLY love the arches shot on Day 25...would look really nice hung on the wall, cracking shot.

Great colour on the fake flower on Day 26, and the pastels shot is very nice, lighting spot on and captured the colours beautifully.

Really good capture of the street, would also work well in black and white :).

Nice cycle heritage shots too....great detail and lovely shot of the bikes lined up.

Loving the shot of Nottingham on Day 31, it's a place I've been to once, only for an hour or so to do a shoot with an actor at the theatre. Loving the DOF in today's shot hehehe and then scrolling down slightly to see the scary chaser staring out.

Great work hun and here's to month 2

To be honest, Phil, neither do I!!! That's why it's a failed hobby! :D

I think you stuff them onto the scrapbook page and hope for the best - some people are very good at that. I am not :shake:
