Ahead of qualifying for the United States Grand Prix, the F1 paddock was rocked by the sad news that Red Bull co-founder and owner Dietrich Mateschitz had passed away at the age of 78.

Very sad. Ironically, the news broke just before quali yesterday.

It wasn't just F1, he was a giant of motorsport.

You see the RB colours in F2, F3, DTM, NASCAR et al. I can’t recall ever seeing a Red Bull coloured IndyCar though.

Indeed, and many other sporting genres. At least he saw Verslappen get his second crown.

You see the RB colours in F2, F3, DTM, NASCAR et al. I can’t recall ever seeing a Red Bull coloured IndyCar though.

Cheever Racing were RB sponsored in early 2000's - had to google who it was but thought I remembered seeing an RB car when I was watching back then. It would of been IRL and CART at the time.

I recon it would be easier to name a motor sport series on 2 or 4 wheels that doesnt have RB sponsorship with in it. Its even in Road cycling - Wout Van Aert wears an RB helmet instead of his team colours, Mountain biking, BMX, skateboarding.
