Then I can have a play.

Wow.

Make sure and let us know what you think. Whats good and bad about it, especially first impressions wise.

I'll be interested to know what you think of it, they're mighty tempting at the price.....

Nice, be interested in what you make of it.

Tell me though, how do you explain your sig?
Once a Nikon man, always a Nikon man.
hehe ;)

haha good spot... its kind of a nikon though... sort of :)

Because it's originally a Nikon that has mutated:)

Lol ok, ill let you off, I was just messing!

I guess its the same as me owning a Samsung and raving about Pentax.

Come on, show us some of the 400% DR samples :D

Love to but batteries charging it's raining and I'm actually working on non photographic matters.

Patience:)

The S5 Pro is an interesting beast which you'll either love or hate, compared to the D200 (on which it's based) it's fantastic for Dynamic Range and low ISO performance, but it is very very slow in comparison and produces quite soft RAWs (which sharpen up nicely BTW).

I'm looking at you to provide a comparison with the D300.

I have two of these at the moment but am only using them for portraits with bowens lights and hi contrast background.. so my use with it is quite specific.. consider shooting over 2500 frames a day tethered to laptop.. it can be a tad slow and the batteries don't seem to last.. BUT that is quite intense use really.. The AF may not appear fast BUT it's with the kit lens so maybe that's why..

I had the s2pro ages ago for weddings etc and that was great if slow (which of course when it came out you didn't moan about). Great colours, great great colours :D

My s5pro (the other is a spare) has froze twice but again.. I think it's only because of the intense use I put it through.

If you need a good camera for portraits and are not worried about a fast moving shoot.. definitely worth it. Even though I just said a lot of negatives :D

Portraits and the colours are to be the main use and reason behind buying one

Does anyone know if the infrared versions are getting dumped at this sort of price too? It would be nice to have a proper, factory built ir camera rather than one I've cobbled together myself
