Yes
Expecting a delivery today, and have taken the day off to accept it.

Unable to narrow down the delivery window, and carriers website tracking says it could be anythime between 07:30 and 17:30, so set the alarm this morning to make sure I was awake - just in case.

Well, I've been here all day, and no one has shown up. Tracking says it is still out for delivery, but I think it would be a touch optimistic to expect it to still turn up today.

Can't even phone them to see what is going on as once you get past the pre-recorded message, it cuts you off.

It's not the first time this month that Sh***y Link have cocked me around like this but what can you do if they are the vendor's courier of choice.

The thing with City Link is that more than likely they have a depot very near you. Why not google all the depots in your area, find the phone numbers and call the depot direct. It always works for me.

City Link aren't great but not many couriers are. I don't know how any courier can make money. I wish someone would explain how they can take a parcel from Lands End to Glasgow for a few quid.

because they take lots of parcels from lands end to glasgow for lots of few quids which makes it worthwhile....

they then loose them or just plain fail to deliver them on route!

Unfortunately the only publicly listed number for City Link is an 0844 number, which cuts you off a few seconds after the automated message asks you to hold for one of their operators.

A later check on their tracking system states that there was no one available to take delivery and a card has been left. This is a blatant bare-faced lie. I was in all day up until half eight in the evening, and my wife was here beyond that until she went to bed. And we haven't received a card to say that a delivery was attempted.

What it boils down to is that the driver couldn't be ar5ed to complete his deliveries, and I've got to take another day off work to wait for a re-delivery.

Can you not have it re directed to your work?

Simple answer.

We all want everything as cheap as possible, vendors then have to nail the couriers down on price so as to achieve a decent profit margin. The couriers squabble with each other in a bid to secure the work and drop thier prices.

Guess what?

Service suffers.

Good service costs money.
