weekly RyanB's 52 for 2025 Week 34 Insects

LOL, great image with a story Ryan. Fun shot.

Great idea, well done. Like the expression on the one being blasted- not happy :)

Ooh, yeah! I like that. A tree in a forest that does stand out - nice find.

Can kill two birds with one stone with that photo… vertical and bark!!

Nice shot, like the focus on 6, tree on the left is a little bit distracting

Very nice, maybe the tree on the left takes some focus but I didn't notice it until reading here. Definitely would have worked for "bark" too!

Lovely shot.
Many thanks guys!

I ummed and ahhed about that tree but settled with it staying in as I liked the path that loops through under it which would get lost in a crop. I did after posting the above decide to go a lot closer and use the mono theme/ tech. Pretty happy with the conversion/ edit.

Week 23 Bark

Been refurbing an old hatchet head I found in a 50p bin at a charity shop, shows off well on a rustic bit of wood.

one I did but never used for the Figures week but works for this week too...

Your re-edit of the vertical shot is excellent and I really like your "barking in the dark" shot,

It's certainly monochrome! And it's certainly street photography, so well done.

Lost in the dark shot is very good, lighting is spot on :)
Street shot works but processed a bit too much for me, like the dog though

Your street shots very good the dog makes the image for me, I agree about the processing the man and dog look over sharpened :thinking:

That's a nice one Ryan, love the dog caught in mid-pee and the juxtaposition of the guy looking in and the guy in the distance looking out.

Like the HDRish processing look

Nice catch up.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell Ryan.
Liking Deserted and I love the portrait.

This is a great catch-up set Ryan and the last two images are awesome. The bokeh is stunning.

Cheers Paul!
Great catch-up.
Thanks David!

Thanks Bill, yes that old lens can create some wild bokeh when shot wide open. Pretty rubbish for sharpness and contrast but for artsy stuff its great fun.

Cheers Keith, I used a Pentax Auto Bellows ii with a 12mm ext tube on the back/ camera side and a reversed Sigma superwide 24mm f2.8 @f11 on the front.
Back of the fag pack calculation;
M = (12+24+170)/24
M = 8.6:1(ish)

Each image is a stack of between 8 and 25 layers. and lit with led desk lamp using a timer and slow shutter speed.
