weekly RyanB's 52 for 2025 Week 34 Insects

Week 04 Morning Light

The first light I see... To anyone wondering, I have a thing about setting alarms on the hour or half hour. I like odd numbers as they give me a couple more min in bed...

I thought my my 0515 alarm was bad... That definitely qualifies as morning light!!

I really like your graffiti set Ryan, I think that I probably would have chosen the second shot though. It's more "punchy" in my opinion.

I like the creative concept for your morning light shot.

I very much like your Morning Light shot (except the time!). A lovely warm colour.

I also like the 2nd graffiti shot, for the depth, the colours and the bridge it's painted on

Your morning light shot is a great composition and a thousand times for soothing than any eely alarm call I can remember!

Many thanks all, I must say I absolutely hate that alarm although I only need it for another week then back to my usual 5am start! Depressing that 5am sounds luxurious...
Anyway time to post this weeks theme and off to bed.:sulk:

Week 5 Snappers Choice

Only really taken one shot I am even remotely interested in which is this rose closeup I took on a newly acquired Vivitar Series 1 90-180mm Flat Field Zoom macro lens. Been after one for a while but they are rare and even rarer at a decent price.
Can't wait for some good weather and decent macro subjects to start appearing so I can give it a proper testing out. I must say I am so far impressed as it looks as sharp as my modern macro lenses even though it was made in the 70's. Love how it has handled the reds as well, a notoriously difficult colour to expose properly.:)

That's stunning. Looks like an absolutely fantastic lens used extremely well.

Beautiful shot Ryan. The texture and colour are excellent.

Superb shot. You handled the reds perfectly.
Great work. Very good shot, indeed.
Great colour and texture, nice macro
Beautiful shot!
Thanks all, really appreciate the comments and I'm sorry I haven't been replying or commenting on many/ any threads feels like I have barely been home except to sleep these days. I will try to be better now that some family/ work issues seem to be abating (maybe/ hopefully)...

Great choice Ryan, love the colour on the water.

That's great colour making a great silhouette. Nice to get a splash of detail on the bird's neck too.

Good silhouette with lovely colour on the water and the lines/waves in the water

Week 07 Through a Window (slight shoehorn)

A window of opportunity to shoot people walking through the arches. I had to wait a while to get it so that works, right...? ;)

Could have gone for this though, I just liked the first more and thought I would wedge it into the theme...
Some stained glass from the same outing.

Two good pictures and agree with your choice, like the archway and ceiling leading to the window.

Sorry I'm just catching up - the rose is absolutely breathtaking, texture, depth, colour, lighting, wow!!

The silouette is wonderful, the colours and rippling of the water give it so much contrast.

And both your week 7 shots are great too

Love the first shot - who said a window needed glass anyway?! Well timed and worth waiting for.

Shoehorn of the week for sure - and nice shot :)

I like your chosen shot Ryan. Great how you've captured the man looking up at the ceiling.

That window shot (in fact both) work very nicely for me.

If you hadn't said shoehorn, I'd have totally gone with the sunlight coming in the windows behind.
Great shoehorn, lots of interest

Thanks all, glad you liked them. :)

Fab shot :)

Great that you can grab some provisions from Joan's Cafe on your way to Everest :)

Nice one,

I wouldn't trust their sat nav though with Kilimanjaro is currently orbiting Earth. :)
