Can anybody advise? Do the Russians still have a camera industry? If so could you point?

Tried google without results. Just curious.

Might be wrong but there was the Lubitel 2 a little tlr not a bad litte camera to get int the m format game but quality control was a bit suspect. Lol

Russia used to produce FED's that were a copy of the Leica II.
Don't know of any current cameras produced in Russia.

The only current manufacturer I can think of is Arax, and they after market tweak kiev MF stuff. Having said that the Arax stuff is beautiful.

There are a lot of zone focus and rangefinders on ebay from zorki or fed. Many tend to be beaten to heck and back, if you want one be prepared to get into camera DIY or you can buy from one of the well known middlemen who buy in the junk and repair before selling on.

I can point you towards various resources on Russian film cameras if your fetish lies with that stuff. Mine does, my wife hates it.

You've still got Zenitar who produce the 16mm 2.8 fisheye - completely manual but cheap as chips at around £100.

Zenitar/Zenit is just a mark of KMZ mentioned above
