Running an Action at 85%

Hi All

I have a sharpening action, from totally Rad called Slice Like a Ninja.

I batch process images and auto run the action on each image and auto save.

How do I ‘copy’ the action and create a new one but at only 85% strength.

So when I batch process I can run the 85% one on one batch and the 100% on another batch.

I don't have that action but if it runs on a new layer just add the following step to the action. start recording action, lower opacity to 85% stop action. To copy an action (if I remember rightly) you create a new set from the drop down menu and with both sets open hold down alt and drag the action to the new set. As I say thats from memory and I don't have photoshop where I an to check at the moment.

why duplicate layer. i did the following
Open Image
Record
run Action
Change opacity to 85%
Stop recording


The Actions creates a group folder and the opacity is changed for the group folder....would this not work?

You don't need to, it's just something I've always done so it's easy to go back if you make any mistakes.

Why do you you do two batches at different sharpening?

I should have been clearer, I don't do the same batch twice. my workflow is bad enough as it is lol!

Im just going through my workflow and streamlining it. I never realised how hard I had made it for myself, so im setting up automated processes for the repetitive tasks.

I have actions that I may wish to batch run at a reduced rate. Its all theory at the moment. As an example, if I have bunch of bridal portraits, I may want to ease off on the sharpening a bit, as opposed to some of the more candid / day to day stuff.

Also, im trying to find an action that's the same as 'A better web sharpen' by Totally Rad. I don't want to have to buy the whole set just for the web sharpen, don't know of any do you?. If its free then great, but happy to pay a few quid for a single action if you know of one.
