Rugby World cup 2015 thread

I enjoyed that, being sat amongst a load of Argentinians I can hear nothing now

A great hard fought game, I felt realy sorry for the Puma's head coach after the final whistle. The final should be an interesting one, both teams know each other insideout.

And now it seems Sam Burgess is packing up Union to return to RL. Sems he's been given time off by Bath to consider a return to Sydney.
Wonder what Luther Burrell will make of that?
There's something funy been going on there. Wonder if we will ever be told the whole story?

From the stories I've heard that's far from the only dubious selection decision. I'm betting it'll not all come out though

Predictions for this afternoon? I have to say the Red Arrows may be the most exciting bit of the match

Has to be the All Blacks, surely?

They seem to be much more a team though ... whatever, hopefully will be a great match :)

Great try for the AB's but it's a messy game with loads of loose ball and turnovers.

3 minutes and 7 points. Doable. Just. 2nd half aus have looked the better team. & as I type nz have put it out of reach

Oz only looked in with a chance when NZ were down to 24 men. Other times they were simply second best.

Maybe now the guy who has played the theme from Star Wars outside my window on bag pipes every match will f*** off home

Two hours after it finished & he has yet to shut up

I feel your pain- much as I like the sound of the pipes, if he's still there 2 hours after the end and not been plied with enough drink to get him pi**ed then he must be a really cr*p piper

I've seen this NZ side compared to the 1970 Brazilian side.
Fair comment?

It will be nice to see all the Quantas staff wearing black today.
That's probably as good as last night's results.

It took him a while (organising a severance deal?) but not unexpected and hopefully someone with imagination and initiative takes over.

I hope he didn't get one. I can see why he didn't go during the tournament, but why not straight after? I hope his going doesn't stop people looking and fixing some of the other issues

I don't think just changing the head coach is the answer to the dilemma, the RFU need to have a long hard look at themselves in the mirror. For too long the premiership sides have signed carpet-baggers and has-beens from other countries on lucrative contracts and preventing local talent from blooming. English football found themselves in a similar position, pre-tournament the expectations were high, in reality they were just average. Welsh rugby went through a similar period, we managed to loose a plethora of players to rugby league. Maybe its about time that a foreigner rule came into place.

Any ideas as to Lancaster's successor?

Josh Lewsey has resigned from his Wales job. I wonder if he might figure in the England set-up somewhere?

Agreed, I'd also like them to look at the influence Andy Farrell had on selection and why they didn't select players playing abroad. The selection in general seems muddy at best. Not to mention the poor decision making in match need addressing ( not just that penalty either)

The rumours of ructions in camp (Ciprani/Catt) just as an example and the share dealing (WTF) need investigating.

No ideas on a replacement. Southern Hemisphere maybe?

It wasn't his fault, it was obvious to many he didn't have the experience or ability to do the job. Those who appointed him need to go too.

Why is anyone surprised that Lancaster bombed?

I'll get my coat.

Personally I would have given MJ a bit longer and tried to get Woodward as a mentor (given that CW didn't want to continue as manager). If you look at the number of rugby players in the UK and the money the English RFU has we should be dominant. It's the people at the top holding us back.
