just wondering do you think I`ll need any type off pass or anything, I want to try it out see how it goes, Maybe any recommendations on what equipment to take as well?

:)

What level of rugby are you thinking of photographing?

Just normal, Like local Rugby teams. You know like at the park, Where they have games, I just get worried about being punched in the face thats all haha !

Hi Daniel, for Championship or above you will need RFL accreditation :)

Anything below best bet is to ring the media department (or go and see them in person) and ask if you can turn up to a few games and shoot.

As for kit, the minimum you want is a 70-200, ideally F/2.8.

Perfect setup would be the 70-200 with a 300 or 400 prime on a 2nd body

Very brief but hope that helps

You should be all right, as most grounds below the Premiership let spectators stand fairly close to the pitch.

At Championship matches (next level down), there will quite often be club or local media photographers between the spectators and the edge of the pitch. But you will still be fairly close.

Below this level the spectators generally consist of one man and his dog, so they will be glad for anyone to turn up and watch.

Yeah it wont be anything like championship games, Its just local games etc.
Iv asked a childhood friend If I can do it he said when there next playing at home, im welcome to come n snap,

As for kit, I have 70-300mm DG Macro lens Sigma..

I consider that to be ok, Or would you disagree?

I cant afford much and this being £125 at the time, I thought why not so I went for it!

That is the lens I was using until I bought my 70-200 f2.8.
You should be OK provided the light is good. Otherwise you'll need to turn up the ISO to get a decent shutter speed.

Look forward to hearing about the experience and seeing the images.
