I bought a collapsible rubber lens hood for my Nikon 70-200 a while back but (probably because it was cheap...) it has split and is coming away from the mount, so it is now held together with gaffer tape. The tape doesn't bother me but it's gonna fall apart soon and it makes collapsing the hood difficult!

Can anyone recommend a longer lasting rubber hood available that'll do the job?

I can’t believe that people stump up money for stuff like this. It looks like an oversized bog brush.

Mamiya M77 has a 77mm screw in that fits on a 70-200 with a 77mm screw

Ta. I've been searching for one of those without success having seen it recommended somewhere. Have ordered a B+W hood to put me on.

I'm guessing there won't be any new ones so would only be ebay i'm afraid. but for £15 or so its weighing up how much you want vs the pain of using ebay

It could be 1p and I wouldn't use Ebay. :D

Fingers crossed the B+W one will be OK. If not I'll do a better job with the gaffer tape on my cheapy hood!

The B+W hood has arrived and it feels to be made from thicker material and is better made than my cheapy which has now completely fallen apart.. It's not as deep a hood, however.
