Good evening everyone,

Seeking a bit of advice please.

I use an RRS L plate on my 1Dx MkII and an RRS base plate on my 6D MkII (RRS don’t make an L plate for the MkII).

Apart from the ease of moving from portrait to landscape with an L bracket I also like the added protection they afford the body.

I’m looking at getting a Manfrotto RC 4 L bracket for the 6D but cannot find a definitive answer as to whether I can fit the Manfrotto onto the RRS base plate.

Does anybody out there in the ether know?

Simply put… NO! … unless you modify the RRS head.

Manfrotto created their own mounting plate system many
years ago. Though not bad in itself, it is waaaay over sized,
bulky, and is not compatible with other systems.

I do own their panoramic head and that's the only place it is
used. For everything else, all my four bodies are equipped
with Kirk L plates. They fit on any standard AS mount.

Thanks for the responses guys,

HTH, I should have stated that RRS do make an L plate but not for the 6DII with the battery grip fitted. Having contacted them they’re not going to make one either as there is no demand.
