Hi

OK, I'm itching to get the D800 now but common sense tells me to wait a bit for the initial price decrease. I'm seriously struggling to keep my legs developing a mind of their own and walking into the local camera shop.

Is there a structure to price drops? I know it's a gradual process but how long tradtionally is it before the initial price drop and how long before it reaches its base price?

Cheers

:bang:

With Nikon's track record so far it will just get more expensive as further system errors are found

why not have a look at
camerapricebuster.co.uk

it will show some elements of price history for each camera and lens, and how quickly the lowest advertised price was reached

Scott I am in the same boat really. I have the money to purchase either a D4 or D800 and D3s combo but the prices are just so high and stock so low that it's not looking good.

In the case of the D800 it would be used mainly for personal projects so if I had to wait 6-12 months for it then I might well have decided to use the money for other hobbies instead.
