weekly rpn's 2017 Project 52 - Week 52 WEATHER Added *** COMPLETED ***

That's some stile! Looks a tricky one, think I'll go under the barbs. Interesting compo and nice to get the sun on the green wood.

The light hitting the style is very nice good spot for the theme

Thanks, David and Allan. I was lucky with the light just on the wooden gate/stile.

Yes, that's a very rustic-looking fence and gate, Stan, and it's really lifted by the hint of sunlight on the wood.

Of your other recent images the expanse of green countryside with the distant building works well for Remote, and both images for Juicy are spot on. I would be happy to have taken either of those, with such great colours and textures, but given the choice I will opt for the extreme close-up of #2

Thanks, Andrea for the catch-up comments.

Liking the snow too, it adds to the shot. Nicely lit. Did you have to wait some time for the right light?

Thanks, Tim. I was lucky in that the light was there waiting for me. :)

I post this up just now as a starter/banker and hoping/trying to take something better in the next few days. This is a result of a technique I haven't really attempted before by blending two separate images together, one of the Santa and the other of the out-of-focus (bokeh) fairy lights.

Week 51 - Festive

Festive by Stan, on Flickr

The last picture I took for Rustic was two images, thats very festive indeed its a very silly season indeed

Spot on for the theme and nice bokeh, the blending looks fairly seamless but santa feels a bit too close to the background for the OOF lights to be convincing

... would never have guessed it was two images ... it does have a pleasing festive blurriness about it. (y)

Festive
Looks good and works well. I'd stick with the banker and take the rest of the week off.

Silly season will do for me, good to see santa hanging around.

Cheers, Dave. Santa is going back in the box soon.

Works well Stan. I hadn't realised that it was a composition until you mentioned it, which I think is a good thing.
Well worth the effort for festive. :)

Thanks, Tim. I'm just starting to get the hang of Photoshop, slowly very slowly.

I wasn't 100% happy with the Festive Santa shot but decided to post it as a banker just in case. However, yesterday I managed to take another one while I was at my son's house for Christmas dinner with the family.

Week 51 - Festive (Take 2)

Festive Wine by Stan, on Flickr

Hi Stan, sorry I haven't done any commenting for a while :( but just wanted to say you have some lovely shots, the fireworks are brilliant, had you considered making it portrait? I think it might work well that way too. I love the colours in remote, it certainly looks remote but maybe not if it was only 10 minutes away. Perfect timing and subject for rustic, make such a difference when the sun comes out when you want it to and the second festive shot would be my choice, the colours and the bokeh are lovely makes me feel warm and cosy but I might have been tempted to move the table decoration at the front, it's a little large and pulls my eye away from the bottle of wine which is beautifully sharp. Look forward to seeing more of your pictures next year :D

Well done stan. Very fitting funny weather stone......though round here if the stone is gone the fuzz would be turning out the youths pockets for it (y)

:D:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL: All I will say is, what a great finish to your 52 :plus1:

Thanks, Dave for all the nice words and encouragements through the year. Looking forward to 2018 now. (y)

That's a good find for the theme Stan and a fun way to end the year.

Excellent take on the theme congratulations on finishing another

I'd not seen one of those before, so I did have a little chuckle.
Good fun finish to the 52, and a very technically correct shot too, being sharp with good verticals and strong black & white points.

Thanks, Tim. Thought I try something different and fun to finish the year.

What a cracking subject for your final shot of the year Stan, a real fun take on the theme but still nicely composed, I like that you kept in the silver conduit and bits on the RH Side, nice one

I have enjoyed your images this year and would like to say congrats on finishing your phot52 for 2017

Thanks so much for the nice words, Dean. (y) Looking back to my early years' 52 photos, I think I've improved a tiny bit.

My catch-up comments for the last 3 weeks of 2017 (hoping to be quicker in 2018)

Wk 50 - Rustic - warm colours contrast well with the snow and a real rustic scene.

Wk 51 - Festive - the second one for me. Perhaps a slight angle to the bottle and a small rotate so can see the whole of the bottom and the label,

Wk 52 - Weather - :D - made me smile.
