I have posted off a lens to a buyer on this forum via RMSD, it has not arrived today before 1pm as it should have done. When I input the number I am told no information is available and to come back later:bang:. There is a number to ring on the receipt but as I expected it is automated and just gives me the same reply :bang:. I have looked on the site and there is no way to contact a real person other than email and even then the advice is to wait 15 days to make a claim, it is RMSD, a premium service!! surely they can trace it a bit quicker than me having to wait 15 days before I claim.
And looking at it from the buyers side of the fence he has paid me and not received his goods so he will obviously not be too happy with the situation and I know I am obliged to refund the buyer and then make a claim myself for compensation.

Usually when using RMSD the tracking service informs you the item has been received, then out for delivery, then delivered, I have no information at all!!. I watched the posty scan the barcode so that should confirm it has been received.

You could ring RM customer service....... though I use the term customer service lightly

Ahh I have now found a number on their website I will give it a try.

Spoke to the nice lady at Royal Mail and they say it has been delivered, the buyer who is at work at the moment previously informed me he will check when he gets home at 5.30 so here's hoping it actually has been delivered at some point today.

Next time I suggest you jump in your car and deliver it yourself.

It arrived eventually

I think you can claim back the postage if it wasnt there by 12

1pm is the deadline actually. But as it turns out that it was delivered I think the OP should post a reply with all his headbanging smilies actually smiling and praising the service that he's received cos people only ever moan about the post.

All said and done the buyer did receive the goods next day and all praise to Royal mail for delivering it and not losing it, BUT, had their website been up and running correctly and giving me the tracking information that was part of the service I had paid for, I would have at least known the parcel was on its way and I would not have been banging my head.
I have used RMSD many times in the past for forum and ebay deliveries and this is only the second time things have not gone as planned but I will still use the service again.

Anyway 5 head bangs was it ? here are 5 smileys in praise of the Royal Mail delivering my parcel next day,:):):):):) please note the last one.
:)

Glad it got sorted out well. Amazon today messed up on delivery of my GPS, which got me really annoyed especially when I couldn't get the information I needed (where did it go )?

My parents had a problem with RMSD they ordered something and it didn't arrive, RM insisted it had been delivered, in the end they got a copie of the receipt thing to check the signature and it was not my parents, eventually we realised it said BUSH. The postie had left it behind the bush and someone had stolen it!!

On the good side though, one morning my postie knocked on our door very very early, I got up grumpy wondering why he is so early and why he is knocking (we have a cupboard outside our parcels go in) turns out my debit card had slipped out of my jeans along the road late the night before, he was walking to work and recognised the name on the card so had bought it round to me, double checked my name before explaining and handing over the card. Thats good service :)
