Yes
Now I'm not usually one for complaing about RM as my mates dad is a postman
but I ordered a couple of DVD box sets off play.com the other day.

Both were posted on the same day however one came on Wednesday and the other came on Thursday.
Now this in itself isn't the problem as I'm fully aware delays can happen.

The PROBLEM is where the dopey delivery person left it when he/she figured it wouldn't fit through the letter box.

I opened my door to find the usual red card saying what had been done with the parcel. the note on it read as follows:

"behid plont pit" :cuckoo:

Now I know i haven't got the greenest thumbs in the world but I'm pretty sure I haven't got a "plont pit" in my front garden.

I re-open my front door and look into the garden to find it leaning against a PLANT POT not behind but to the side of it. Just sitting there in all its brown paper glory with the white RM label on it.

I'm shocked it was still there as anyone walking past my garden would have seen it and recognised what it was imediately.

Thankfully no thieving bar stewards were about that day ;)

What I would like to know is what was wrong with all the other hiding places he/she could have left it without advertising it to the world.. well ok my street :bang:

Look on the bright side of things, always .... at least your incident proves that the world is still a safe place to keep things hanging out in full view.

Actually, I am very impressed by this ... of course, it may be attributed to pure luck; but there is no such thing as luck, in the Force!

By the way, I love your signature .. the 2nd one seems so fitting to this incident of yours :p

My postie used to leave all my parcels on my doorstep - what was annoying was that often they were 3 or 4 DVD's that were held together with rubber bands in a bundle.

Individually they would all have fitted through the letterbox fine :)

Very true but this is coming from an area where leaving your washing out over night will attract the local pyromaniac and where only yesterday I was cleaning out some rubbish for the tip I put an old exercise bike in my garden and 30 mins later it had "found a new home" :bat:

It's like the people that spell words the way they say 'em in their local accents.

UPS once left a card "Box in Bush" sure enough, in the middle of the bush was a box, so carefully put there and all twigs re-arranged it was just funny, it even had a tupperware type lid that had been lying in the garden for months placed on the top of it to keep rain off the box - we just laughed !

:lol::lol::lol:

Thats what I like to see, a delivery person who takes their job seriously! :D

And it's just as well he didn't get his words muddled as recieving a card saying "bush in box" would have really confused you! :D

I've had this, left in the top of the porch and things like that. I should sue...

To be fair most of the time stuff gets left with the neighbours, which is a bit more convenient than having to make a special trip to the post office. Although once it got left with one neighbour, then collected by the other one, got it eventually...

I have posted this before in similar threads but again DHL take some beating when they left a card saying parcel left in blue bin.......... £840 pounds worth camera/lens kit left in my blue recycling bin !!!

i used to have a tshirt with the phrase - ;everyone has the right to stupidity, just some abuse the privilige' on it

:D well if there are any anual TP awards put it forward by all means

It's funny to see that this happens all over the country but also annoying as in my case it was only a £10 DVD I would have gone mad if I had found that much camera quipment just dumped in a bin! :bat:

They would have been hopping mad at the delivery driver if the bin had been emptied that day!!.

A good example of crass stupidity, probably by a temporary driver as it was nearing Xmas.

RM tried to deliver a parcel here a couple of weeks ago, but there was no one at home.
They left a card timed 1015 asking me to take it to their depot to collect the package, but to allow 2 hours from the time on the card before going there.

I duly turned up at 1215.

Large brass plate on the door:-

OPENING HOURS

0700 - 1200

Parcel Force makes 'em all look good. I've just been to the depot to collect a parcel which was posted 2 weeks ago. :bang:

It makes you wonder why its called "Royal" Mail .....I wonder if the queen has this problem.....actually she probably uses Fed-Ex or UPS to save herself the hassle :D

Speaking of which, did anyone read/hear about that old women a few weeeks ago? She accidentally got sent a training firearm (replica MP5 I think) that should have gone to the police! :bang:

It seems that not only do RM not have a problem dumping nearly a grands worth of equipment in a bin but also don't mind giving little old ladies machine guns :bonk:
