Just a word of warning about the how bad Royal Mail have become now.
Went to a brick and mortar post office with a letter to be sent to USA.
Paid £7.50 for tracked only.
The lady even asked me " do you want signed for "
I said no, tracked only ( there was standard, signed and tracked and tracked only options advertised )
So I got tracking that day to say accepted etc.
3 weeks later no other tracking has been provided at all.
During many conversations complaining to Royal Mail live chat I found out they gave me signed for at the post office.
Now that would not matter much but I knew that the recipient was not home so that is why I asked for tracked only.
So obviously nobody was home so never got delivered.
There was over £100 in the letter + £7.50 to send it.
The Royal Mail response " sorry Sir its not insured. Sorry Sir you cant even try to claim your £7.50 back until Sep 15.
Sorry you were miss sold signed for, nothing we can do about it.
So basically I got a bunch of sorry Sir, no compensation, they cant tell me where the letter is and wont help at all till Sep 15 when I can claim it as lost and try to get back the £7.50.
Absolutely shockingly poor, they said 5 point tracking system, it was tracked for one day and nothing for 3 weeks lol.
