Hi, I have been using a Belkin N modem router for about 10 years and the connection had started dropping a lot lately
so I bought a Belkin AC1200 modem router to replace it. After about 2 hours using the set up disc it finally connected
it stayed online overnight and cut out this morning and will not keep a connection and after trying to set it up again with
no joy Iam using the old one which is now working fine.Has anyone any experience of this particular router ?

What's dropping - the wireless or the ADSL connection?

If it's the adsl dropping across both routers then it's more likely to be a line issue.

Have you you had it checked?

But as andy said, more info please.

Sorry guys the wifi coverage isn't great on my old router but it maintains its line connection.I bought the new one hoping to get a stronger wifi signal but it wont stay connected to
to the internet.Iam going to try a firmware update and see if that helps

OK. Firstly, have you tried connecting into the master socket with the faceplate removed? Secondly, what are the line stats between the two boxes (when they are connected)?

The master socket is in the loft and not really practical and I dont know how to get the line stats:(
To debug further you are going to need to figure out how to do both of those as it could be 10001 things. If you phone your ISP to try and figure out what is wrong, the FIRST thing they will do is ask you to connect direct to the master socket.

Unusual to have the master socket in the loft though....

It is strange. The router iam currently using is fine at the moment I just cant understand why the new one won't just plug and play

Moved my old router downstairs next to tv and now a wired connection to skybox and digibox and I've used a tp link plug to
my pc upstairs and all is well at the moment. Router going back to Argos for a refund
