I would just like to give a big 
to Rother Valley Optics.
They have just opened a new store at Kiveton Park, near Sheffield. (5 minutes fro home for me)
I have just bought a tripod from them.
I am rather indecisive when it comes to parting with money, so it took me 3 visits to the shop to make up my mind.
Despite the fact that there was every chance I was just someone who liked to play with the gear and never buy anything, the service I received was excellent.
Ian, who runs the place, didn't mind how many tripods I played about with. He even let me take them outside to try my camera on them.
I finally decided on the Velbon Sherpa 600R (seems an excellent bit of kit for the price) at £85. Ian had already told me that they will do their best to price match on any equipment, but I hadn't found it cheaper anyway.
They have mainly been dealing in astronomical telescopes and spotting scopes etc, but have recently moved into cameras and accessories.
Not much camera stock as yet, but will have Sigma lenses in very shortly and have just become a Canon dealership.
Anyway, as a thankyou for their brilliant service, I thought I would recommend them.
