Yes
Rumours are Rooney will be leaving United in the Jan transfer window. Of course Man U sources claim it to be nonsense, but you see this develop like this time and again - He's not going anywhere, they say, and then sell the player 3 days later

I believe he will leave united to be honest, but not sure where he'll go - can't see it being real - too many strikers there. Possibly chelsea I suppose.

I could not care less:)

That'll be to recoup the lost sponsorship of Pepsi & Tiger beer presumably.
He should have learnt by now that trying to blackmail Ferguson with a newspaper quoted statement of "payup or I leave" (so he may not have said it) will result in only one thing,
"close the door on your way out son" (and possibly a flying boot).

Ditto, who gives a flying cuss, he hasnt played well for 12 months and wants a wage rise, so would I.

Matt

I've got mixed feelings about Rooney but I think if he goes - it will probably be City.

All that momney he makes from the Shrek films, why does he need to play football?

I doubt if he'll disappear off the radar completely. Pity.

£40 million + Karim Benzema would be a great deal for Manchester United. It's time to move Rooney on. He's lost respect for himself, the team and Sir Alex Ferguson.

:agree:

i think it would be a mistake to let him go to chelsea or city.

I get the feeling he will go where the money takes him, City

if that doesn't happen the Real in some kind of swap plus cash with Benzema

That would do nicely.

Certainly try and get a decent player into the club if he does go as cash only would no doubt be lost to debt repayments.

How about a straight swap for Ronaldo :naughty:

personally i think it's Ferguson who's lost it. WHy would he invent that rooney had an ankle injury when he didn't - he doesn't need protection from the media - when did a coach ever leave a player out of the squad because he thought they might get booed by the fans of the other team - leaving him out of games is hardly helping his form currently.

Unfortunately Ferguson's last few years in management are going to fizzle out instead of ending with a bang. He should have gone when they won the double a few years back.

He will have to go abroad, Utd won't sell him to City almost certainly.

they would for the right price. They won't care who he goes to, it's all about raising funds. If City offer more than chelsea - they'll sell to city or they'd be very stupid. The business side of a football team doesn't care about team rivalry.

Rooney himself might not want to go there though, I'm pretty sure no matter what the fee he wouldn't go to liverpool for example

He may join a rugby team because they have hookers.

Rooney could stay... Fergie retires in Jan and Big Sam takes over at Old Trafford. He would get Rooney back to form quickly.

lol allardyce managing united, odds checker has capello more likely to manage utd at 10-1 compared to allardyce at 40-1

He had ice on his ankle after one of games when the camera panned to the bench when he was subbed, so i think the Ankle injury is true.

Send him down to Cardiff to partner Craig Bellamy up front...

That'd be entertaining. Same as Beckham, send him to Cardiff as well...you could play 3 up front; Bellamy, Bothroyd and Rooney...with Beckham and Chopra behind.

Dynamite stuff.

5/4 odds on Fergie retiring at the end of the season. I might be tempted to put a few quid on that. He's been a hell of a manager over the years but as someone has already said no one person should be bigger than the club and in recent years Fergie has not only been bigger than the club but almost bigger than football itself. It's time he graciously fades into the history books IMO.

If Fergie retires Wrigley sales will plummet.

lol, why would you put anything on odds that poor, you'd have to put a hundred quid just to win 25

If its a choice of City for £50mill or let him run his contract down and get nowt for him its a no brainer.

Interesting rumour on the radio today that he will run his contract out and go back to his roots at Everton

Man City?

Can't afford to sign him less they sell a lot of players, facing a ban from european comps unless they reduce wage bill.

West Ham!!

We need a striker...we'll swap you Carlton Cole for him!?

I want to say one of those indescribable doors in every town, where you knock twice, enter for half an hour and then leave after making a deposit...

But that would be slander...

What sort of effect will the move have on Rooneys

Injured in training to and left on a stretcher

Having seen the interview I personally think fergie is only telling his side

fergie said he didnt know why rooney would want to leave. i think its pretty obvious, utd arent the team they were back when they win the double, i cant see them winning much at all in the near future and i tink rooney wants to be part of a team who win tropheys, especially since thats what he got used to happening.
