Without a doubt the best way to avoid rolling shutter is to buy a CCD camera as they have a global shutter.
Realistically though there's a few things you can do such as increasing the frame rate and not panning too fast. Also I believe that panning from left to right will not incur as much rolling shutter as panning from right to left.
The phantom flex has a rolling shutter but if you shoot at 2500fps you can never spot it.
