We have recently acquired an old Rolleiflex and I think I've identified it as a Rolleiflex Original k1 612, but there is very little info out there regarding this version to get 100% identification. I've tried joining the Rolleiclub but for some reason can't register - I was hoping someone in TP world knows a little about these!
If its the 612 it takes 117 film eek, need another alternative as i'd love to run at least one roll through it before I move it on to fund other projects! Any help or advice would be appreciated!

I'm sure someone will tell us why not but i'm led to believe 117 is very similar to 120 film. You could just run that through.

Thank you both for the replies, I got what I could from that Rolleiclub link, but it did not go into enough detail. I have not been able to find positive details about the smaller differences between the types, only an odd mention on other camera forums (e.g some models have cast strap lugs, some formed) to get a positive ID. If I want to sell it I need to know what i'm selling to get a fair value (although again, i've not found a model like this which has been sold to get a value from).
I'd like to try the film, hopefully someone can help me work out how maybe I can use a 120 which is a bit easier to source!

Thank you, mine has the 3.8 lens, no hinged back and the serial number 30021 which fits with the correct date range, which hopefully makes it the 612. I did read about prototypes and saw one on flickr, but it had no serial number so I don't think I have one of those unfortunately.
Hopefully someone will have some advice on how I can get a film through it (its not converted) so I can at least try it!
