Rolf's officially been charged :(

Can't believe it, a childhood idol to soo many and yet it now looks like he did commit offences on minors! :shake:

And a fair trial was had by all.

Matt

Seems shocking the indecent images were alleged to been made last year

I know, it's very very odd, at that age aswell? I just don't understand this whole thing to be honest, what on earth drives a man to do such things?

Damn. I feel more for the children though, over my childhood memories...

Still doesn't stop me feeling a little bit robbed.

Who's next, Morph? I'm telling you, they go near him and that's it....

of what? how exactly does it effect you? I recall watching him on telly.. enjoyed a couple of things.. not so much others... same with jimmy saville.. bit mad but enjoyed a few things...

i raise my eyebrows at whats happened.. but all this shock horror and feeling robbed business seems a bit drama queenish to me...

they did wrong.. they quite rightly get done..

Do the crime do the time!

Just noticed the comments on facebook, people are crying apparently......

I suspect Marcel's post was a smidge tongue in cheek, hence the next line.

Chill. :)

its already been proved that morph was a playdoughphile

I'm disappointed Rolf seems to have been/gone down this road as like many others I have fond memories of him when I was a kid.

Still, if he's proven to be a P**** he deserves what's coming to him.

the warning signs were there when he had 'two little boys' in the early 70s

With his extra leg and two little boys it was never going to end well for Rolf and his didgeridoo :D

It all seems a bit odd when he was into tying Kangaroo`s down

But the hidden and lesser used line from that song was "...shag a wallaby"

and they're bouncy bouncy bouncy, fun fun fun

no.... wait a minute ....that's tiggers :suspect: :exit:

Shurrup you pair of women or I'll give you both a nipple cripple :p
If I wanna feel robbed, I'll feel robbed. He used to be an idol! I looked up to him as an inspiration! I used to love art as a kid and wanted to be just like him....complete with beard and everything.

Now *thats* overreacting :D

Seriously though I did look up to him as a kid. That's what makes me feel a bit.....eurgh.

You'll be telling me the tooth fairy was really my mum next :bat:

So he has now been convicted as well as charged?
What on earth drives a man to assume guilt when even the law says that he is innocent?

I've been to enough gigs to know this sort of thing goes a lot further than the BBC. Isn't it the done thing to get the groupies backstage, i'm doubting anyone's asking there ages. Music stars have been doing it since the invention of music stars and everyone has turned a blind eye until now.

I'm not condoning him but seriously are you really that surprised? You could probably dig this sort of dirt up on just about any star with a young fan base.

Oooooh Marcellius...you talk a good game. :D

The tooth fairy assures me that she is not a part of your parentage :)

Santa Claus, however.........

Remember, "making indecent images" can include viewing them on the internet. This is because any image you view online is downloaded to your temporary internet files folder which for legal purposes is "making" an image.
Not that this makes it at all okay, but it is a slightly twisted piece of legalese in that most people interpret "making indecent images" to mean you actually shot the pictures yourself.
Worth remembering when hearing the phrase in the news.

Quite right. Every band since the Beatles has probably got stuff that they would rather not come out.

I love Gary glitter but its considered wrong to play his music? Never heard anyone complain about Charlie Chaplin films though?

That is the big problem with "trial by Internet" Gary. Innocence as well as innocent until PROVEN guilty seems to be just an inconvenient delay for the lynch mob mentality.

really why should we assume either guilt or innocence ... the court has to presume him innocent until proven guilty but the public are free to believe whatever they wish

The first part is correct, the second is not. it is for the Courts to decide guilt, and until they have done so he is innocent. It's not a matter of opinion, I'm afraid it's a matter of fact.

Well, he's right in saying that the public can believe whether he's guilty or innocent as they wish. It just doesn't make it a meaningful belief either way.
Of course, a court's decision is not a matter of objective fact either. Just the opinion of a bunch of laymen who happen to have been given a bunch more evidence than the rest of us and who have sat through (and hopefully considered) the cases for and against. They don't, unfortunately, need to have demonstrated any sort of aptitude for critical thinking.

well yes and know .. to the point of sophistry

If I walk up to you and kick you in the nuts for no reason , i'm guilty of kicking you in the nuts for no reason from the moment I do it ... I just can't be legally punished for my action until a court decides I'm guilty of assault.

Likewise if rolf assaulted a young girl he would be guilty of being a scumbag nonce from the moment of the assault ... he just can't be punished legally until a court finds him guilty of child sex offences

I told my wife this afternoon that he had been charged with 'making indecent images' and she said "Did he draw them?"

Oh that shouldn't be funny......But it is.

making indecent images of children, police have said

did he stop half way through and say....

"Can you tell what it is yet"

:suspect:

If he's been up to no good then fair enough.

I feel quite sad that it's Rolf though.

"making indecent images" includes viewing pics on your internet browser. If you click on a link and there are pics, those pics are downloaded on to your computer - you "made" them.

"indecent assault" is more dodgy as above - the groupies probably weren't vetted.

The problem I have with all of this is that a lot of went on was "the norm". Not saying it was right, but as an example, people eg rock stars would possess cannabis and other drugs back in the 70s. You don't now go back and prosecute someone for possession in the 1970s (at least it's unheard of). So why has this all blown up suddenly? IMO something is amiss.
