rode videomic

not sure about this, when i use my rode videomic on my 5d i get good audio, but when i plug it into the mic port of my macbook the audio is almost unhearable its so quiet, whats the deal here, is there an adapter i need to make it work?

The Rode Videomic has its own power source.

it does indeed, it has a battery.

must be something to do with the soundcard in a pc

Hi Joe, the mic input impedance on a mac is very high, the rode is 200 ohms so you will need a preamp to boost the signal.
