A few friends and I have been buying stuff from Rocky Cameras recently.

Some of the stuff is very well used but always described correctly (so you know what you're buying) and at stupidly low prices.

Quite often one of us will buy a lens only to find they've thrown in another one (used) for nothing. I've bought four lenses from here that have been described as dirty but in good condition, every time, after a clean, they've been perfect

So, if you're looking for 2nd hand equipment have a look at this website.

I have nothing to do with the site by the way, but they deserve to be a little better known.

I think he was one of the main people that my father bought stuff from at camera fairs in the mid 90's

I'm sure I remember a Rocky chap. If it his him I'm glad to see him still around.

yes, they are Gentlemen who understand customer excellence- Grays of westminster also spring to mind, very helpful when I had to buy some serious kit for a client

I placed an order with them on 2nd, and its now the 7th, and not got the items, nor had any sort of communication acknowledging I even exist. Not at all impressed.

He used to be very well known on Ebay (had 3 or 4 accounts I believe) .. Often the item was not as described and the buyer would have problems getting a refund (especially if they neglected to return it without any form of tracking).

I have bought a couple of items from him in the past, one was fine and the other totally knackered but got a refund with no problem (but I only live about 30 mins from him).

Oh crap.. its this the guy who used to have user names made up off digits with all CAPS listings, a fuzzy picture and always used to start "due to turbo lister error..." - if so this is someone I would never deal with voluntarily :bang::bonk:

Yup, thats the one.

I remember he always put =OPTICALLY PERFECT= in the descriptions which was a bit strange as the second lens he sent me had no rear element

Still not a peep from this seller.

I certainly CANNOT recommend this seller at all... contacting my credit card for a chargeback..!

I thought you could only contact your credit card company if it was over £100, did you buy everything on the site

Still haven't got what I ordered. I got a reply from him asking what was going on, but he is not helping - "check with your sorting office, its nothing to do with me" response.

I did buy a few things. a couple of Minolta things caught my eye. I'm sure they;d be great if they actually arrived!

That reminds me, I still need to sort this...

Got a refund today without any hassle, and without any further prompting, so this is resolved as far as I'm concerned.

Lucky Puddleduck--I guess you returned stuff "signed for"---those that don't do it that way usually fail to hear a word from Rocky, let alone get a refund. If anyone reading this is still considering purchasing stuff from this cowboy (I never will again) I strongly suggest googling him first. He is known for selling crap and abusing those who have the temerity to protest about it. There are horror stories on many sites.
