Rocky Cameras - Why didn't I do a google search first

So I've been looking at www.rockycameras.com for a while now looking out for some good buys. Almost all of their stuff is about ebay price or below and today i went ahead and bought two rolleiflex cameras for £111.99 including postage, i also took advantage of the 30% discount which saved me £45. I paid via Visa Debit and got an email regarding the order. Then, I go on google and search rocky cameras and a mountain of things come up, almost all negative, Yay! He is on holiday until the 6th of august (said in my order email) so i wont be getting them for a while if he actually decides to send these items. So, i was just wondering how hard woul it be to get a refund seeing as i paid by Visa Debit? Also is his site actually secure when it comes to credit card payments? I know you can get lucky with him and you actually get something good and as described so I'm just hoping that happens but in all honestly after what i've read i wouldnt be suprised if they came with a few nails stuck in each camera.. We'll see what happens...Sigh.

That's why i put in the title - 'why didn't i do a google search first'. Stupid, i know, i guess i just assumed they were alright as I have seen many things go from there so people must be buying from them and i probably assumed if anything was wrong a refund wouldn't be an issue. :bang:

I've bought a few cameras and accessories from them and they've all arrived with no problems. I know he used to sell via Ebay but then stopped that to move to his own site. I've read some comments about the kit sometimes not being as 'mint' as described but everything I've bought has been fine.

It also says he is on holiday on the front page of his website. Bought a few things from him myself, never had a problem.
 
I'm with Steve and Paul on this one, although I'll concede that there is a bit of pot luck about his descriptions. I think you're being a bit premature when you haven't received the cameras yet, but why not send a cancellation email if you're that bothered? He says that:
You are of course covered in the same way as on ebay in that if you feel if an item is incorrectly described then we shall refund in full which is why repeat custom is such a huge part of our business and of course payment protection is included also.

so I'd think you were well enough placed.
 
I bought a lens hood from him recently which did not fit the lens it was said to fit. Received a full refund immediately after returning it.

Perfectly reasonable to me. :thumbs:
 
After all this buzz and fuzz, decided to try rocky services by myself. Ordered while he was on holiday (atleast his page said that) till Aug 6. Got the dispatch confirmation letter on Aug 7, and finally the lens today Aug 8. Superfast bargain for decent takumar lens.
Also I can imagine two rollei cameras for a 100 quid. Thats a massive bargain. And seriously, you expect them to be in exellent condition???
 
In my experience with Rocky Bottom Cameras, I just wanted the goods to be in "good working order" as described on the website. Which they weren't.
 
ive been waiting weeks for my lens no response to emails etc had to file paypal claim i wont be using again
