My advice is if you have a good well paid stable job, stick with it.
I studied architecture at uni for 5 years during which time the construction sector took a big hit due to the economy and haven't been able to find an architecture job since I graduated in 2010! You'd think with an architecture degree things might be a bit easier but no... finally managed to get a job in Asda before getting married to my wife, earlier this year, who is South African. Ended up having to move to South Africa (from Inverness) because I couldn't find a job earning the £18,600 minimum income threshold to sponsor my spouse for her visa. Now I haven't been able to get a job here either because it took SA Home Affairs 6 months to issue my spouse visa and even if I do get a job offer, I have to reapply for a visa with work endorsement (which is job specific) and could take months again...
