Fassy!!!!

It's not a dress rehearsal.

I wouldn't give him the steam off the stuff that come out of it.

And I'm sure he loses sleep over than on a nightly basis

According to the urban dictionary-

Saying this to a Jamaican will result in serious injury and/or death.

Good job he's a Geordie then. No worries.:)

so let's see:

He was in a rubbish TV series years ago. Assaulted my ears with his mate with a terrible version of a classic song. Gets paid for going fishing.

I'm struggling to disagree. :D

See, I'm right again.:)

Failing to really grasp exactly what this thread is about even after reading it all :(
Brash apparently doesn't like Robson Green.

Yeah I assumed as much, but as to why I'm not overly sure....maybe because he's getting paid good money to go fish is so many amazing places...that would be a good enough reason in my book...ah the question is when I'm back on the road...do I first go out taking photos, or do I dust of my rod and dangle a maggot or two...you know I'm leaning towards the latter

If memory serves Mathew, wasn't your dad's / granddad's / uncle's, I forget which, shop, Billy Lane's on the London Road roundabout?

I used to go in there for my spinners for catching perch and pike up the Longford cut.

You can't beat a good maggot dangle Matt (y)
:D

It's the best :D

Excellent news.

Indeed, they are even taking the shop into the future now...just recently the shop got its own website with some history of the shop on there...

Is that the same Billy Lane that wrote a book on float fishing?

Billy Lane was a fishing legend!
When I started fishing back in the early seventies, better and more experienced anglers used to teach newcomers the art of floatfishing, and if you asked them why they did something a certain way, they would say - "Because Billy Lane does it that way".

Cant say I think anything about Robson Green but fishing! Wtf is that all about a completely poitntless exercise , unless your gonna eat the bloody things of course but even then.

The sad thing is he died before I was born so the only time I've ever really known about the kind of guy he was is through the words of others, several times I've listened to people influenced by him

I'm slowly trying to collect all his books, the irony is you'd think as direct relations we would have copies of each but sadly not :(

I found this online, but as it is perhaps the best known of his books, you probably have it already.
