Robot Wars

Wow will phillipa forester be coming back also in those leather trousers !

This was the ultimate TV program! so looking forward to it's return.

I think they were right to stop it when they did but now would definitely be a good time to bring it back to life.

I hope they don't try to hard to make it good though. I just want robots fighting each other nothing extra is needed!

I did a wedding for the blokes (FOG, groom and best man) who made Roadblock. They seemed impressed I'd heard of it. Those were the days.....

I never missed an episode of Robot Wars, I even went to watch it live in Manchester - Bring it on!

Rachel Riley would be my choice.. :naughty:

It had reached a certain metagame where the winners all started to look alike - either a wedge-flipper or a hammer-smasher. From memory the wedge-flippers became dominant.

It will be interesting to see if advances in technology and materials result in a more varied range of winning designs.

Don't let it be Craig Charles!!

In leather trousers? Hmm Maybe! ;)

But yes please, bring it back, compulsive viewing for my lad and me!

Then there was Razer. with it's claw that crushed with three tons per square inch of force.

Ok, so it broke down a lot, but it also took a house robot out for an entire season.

Its deffinately coming back, got the rules and application through today, filming is going to be in Glasgow though.

Well, apart from Hypno-disc's kinetic flywheel that ripped several other robots apart!

Woot love this show :)

Great stuff, used to watch it avidly!

Yup, been watching some highlights on Youtube and those two stand out as the most successful alternative designs, but both had vulnerabilities.

I think one of the later hammer-smashers "borrowed" the flywheel concept to impart some serious energy into the hammer/pick.

Yes no EMPs, flame thowers, nets or untethered projectiles.
Similar rules as before then.
What about commercial rights? That killed out entry before as they wanted full commercial rights from the designs etc for merchandising rights (only it wasn't written that way).

No flying robots with exposed aerofoils

Mentorn have very strict rights policys, basically they own you, Fightingrobots is a holiday compared to Mentorn, I have been involved since 2002 and the FRA Orginisations are great fun,

Think it'll be better in my childhood memories unfortunately but am prepared to try
