I know he wasn't film-only the past few years, but I'm posting here as he retained a commitment to film long after some others had stopped, plus he famously had an Ebony LF camera (the RSW45) designed with Joe Cornish and supplied by himself at a lesser price than other models of Ebony. I only spoke to him once on the phone several years ago, and he came across as a thoroughly nice guy. And he was only a year older than me. :(

Yes, I've just had an email from Robert White (the company) to that effect. I've bought a few things from him over the years (medium and large format) , but only met him once at one of his events when they had speakers in. It's a sad loss - and he was four years my junior. :(
 
I bought a few things from his store and travelled down to see the friendly and helpful team once though I never met the man himself.
Hope the store is able to continue trading.
 
It was taken over (?) by Flaghead so it should still continue. The obituary I read said a year ago, but it seems longer.

There's one on the Amateur Photographer site; the other was in the email sent out by Robert White (the company).
