Some biased people on here dont like RW for some reason, but lets face it....He is the best singer/entertainer in the world today and its a fact........ who else is nearly half as good apart from no one, even Buble is only a voice on one octave but cant put on a decent show RW is 3 octaves and can fill stadiums worldwide.............so lets here your arguments about Britains Greatest singer (old and dead excluded please)

I'm guessing you're not being overly serious regarding Robbie ?

yep I am a serious RW fan and lets face it He is the best

RW the best entertainer?

Royal Albert Hall - excellent concert, but then started swearing from the stage, some of which was televised.

Knebworth, 2007 - telling a 14 year old girl that she'd have more fun if she were drunk

Yes, RW is a real class act and some-one to look up to. 'Fraid not, he only one step away from being chavscum.

Knebworth was 2006 and show me any entertainer that dont swear..............cmon you dont like him cos hes a nobody done better than you

what entertainment has he done in the last 3 years ?

Apart from accepting he was addicted to painkillers and doing someting about it , he went into a clinic and sorted him self out then he tried another time at an album without the input of tin tin duffy and it seems to be going ok but no number ones

Correct yourself please. I don't like him as a person, he's a scum. I do however like the majority of his music.

Just because others swear, it doesn't mean that you have to. RW would do well to remember that. If you believe that doing wrong because others do so is a justification then your parents have failed you in your upbringing.

As for the "jealous" part, I'm 43 and run 3 companies, all of which turn a handsome profit. I have managers who ensure the good day today running of the companies. I don't think you need concern yourself with my "jealousy"

That's better, nearer the truth.

Who mentioned jealousy...............insecure or summat:lol:

Oooh look, the troll is throwing some bait....

He is an good entertainer to be fair - I'll give you that.

Whilst he takes umbrage (think Oasis) at being dubbed 'the fat dancer from Take That' - he's happy to admit that he's not a good singer and his songwriting credits are few. I don't think he plays an instrument but (as per the Kit Kat advert) he's gone a long way.

What I don't buy into are the 'Phases' of Robbie.

One minute he's a 'rocker' hanging around with Manics and The Stereophonics, next he's big band. One minute he's writing (aherm) cocky songs about how he's left Take That in the gutter and 'he's doing fine' - yet now he's best buddies with them. Hmm

Do you not see through his new 'I am so humble / and lucky to be here' attitude that we're now being spun? - It's so 'advised'.

At the end of the day he's done very well (and I stand by him being a good entertainer) but he's just a likeable and well managed 'cheeky chappy' bi-product of a manufactured band.

But I do like him LOL

Well said a likeable lad done good

Robbie's okay, not the best singer we have (yes thats in my opinion) but a likeable lad who seems to be aware of his shortcomings..he muffed his entrance on X Factor tonight which doesn't exactly stand him in good stead after his poor performance a few weeks ago on the same show.

He hasn't released (imho again) a decent song for some years though I'm afraid.

As to who is currently a 'better' singer in the UK.....well its all subjective isn't it :)

I'd rather listen to Teddy Thompson or Thom Yorke but thats just me :D

We could start all over again with Thom Yorke couldn't we LOL

:D I know not everyones cuppa - my wife hates him :)

Actually most people I know don't like him or Radiohead!! I stand alone :)

Tonight he did make a mess and his album is not the best, but its much better than Intensive care, and I havent heared of Thom Yorke but will do a search and have a quick listen:thumbs:

He's a genius (and like many) verging on the mad.

Radiohead had some memorable moments (The Tourist is fab)

As for him - Voice - pained but somehow suited to the material.

I see a lot of Rodger Waters in him.

Thom Yorke is the lead singer of Radiohead and they are a bit of a Marmite band: love 'em or hate 'em :)

I happen to love 'em :D

Indeed - a good comparison! Glad you like him :)

C'mon Pete, yer 'avin' a giraffe. Robbie Williams the best entertainer in the world? You've spent much time watching X-lax Factor mate. ;)

You can't say "it's a fact" anyway, it's not. It's just your opinion and whilst I'm not saying you don't have the right to an opinion, it doesn't make it a fact.

Personally I feel his whole act/persona comes across as contrived. Everything he does (the live "proposal" for example) is carefully stage-managed and crafted by his management and his music is just catchy pop, again carefully (and skillfully) crafted by his management team, he's certainly no David Bowie or Elton John.

It's ironic that you say "so lets here your arguments about Britains Greatest singer (old and dead excluded please)" a lot of the real legends of British music died well before reaching Williams' age of 35 -in that industry Williams is already "old", dying is the only stunt that he hasn't already tried to boost sales, but we can live in hope :naughty:

Good vocals................were these the ones that did a cartoon vid of someone climbing a lightpost and if it was whats the song

Thats Paranoid Android :) and indeed was Thom Yorke and Radiohead

And on that note its way past my bedtime :)

G'night!

"Yusaf Islam"

Well if we have to be Politically Correct - yes

Although last time I saw him he was the 'artist formely know as'.......

Still - as British singer song writers go.............he's up there.

Anyway,in days gone by real rock stars were hellraisers, I cite the late Keith Moon....

During one incident between Moon and hotel management, Moon was asked to turn down his cassette player because The Who were making "too much noise." In response, Moon asked the manager up to his room, lit a stick of dynamite in the toilet, and shut the bathroom door. Following the explosion, Moon informed the startled manager, "That, dear boy, was noise." Moon then turned the cassette player back on and proclaimed, "This is The Who."
Williams' claim to notariety appears to be claims that now and again he takes the odd asprin or two more than he should, but then so does my old mum
