RMSD

no, I'd have moved closer to get the reg number.

FFS!
But then again, perhaps he's a member
here and has been reading the threads about late dileveries,
and was only trying to get "to you" on time?
:D

These vids don't appear to work in android chrome.
Thats weird, I've just checked that on my Android Chrome, and your right.
It doesn't work.

The white rigid wagon cuts him up badly, the artic drivers resulting actions are indefensible and downright ridiculous. Probably being some willy waving going on previous to this stupidity.

I would like to think that the Royal Mail driver got... *ahem*... given the sack for that manoeuvre...

;)

I expect that the Police would be very interested in this - It's clearly a case of dangerous driving beyond doubt. Although the white truck driver indicated he was changing lane he should have waited for the established truck driver lights-signal to tell him he was clear to do so - Unless of course there had been some previous kick-off between them earlier and he was intentionally cutting up the RM truck.

Regardless of who started what, the RM driver is guilty of then potentially causing a very major motorway incident and possibly resulting in a loss of life with other vehicles involved.

Driving like this deserves a ban and very heavy fine in my opinion.

Not exactly first class was it? :D

That would go some way to addressing the issue... But a greater police presence on the roads would stamp out a lot of this type of behaviour..

....Except that I would rather use my road sense about conditions and traffic etc and not feel so restricted to the 60 and 70 mph limits! I add that I am absolutely rigid about 20/30/40mph limits and some 50s and my car is equipped with an accurate digital GPS speed indicator as OEM (original manufacturer's) speedometers are notoriously inaccurate.

I prefer encounters with unmarked Police cars - They invariably tell me my driving is exemplary but to watch my speed. Got followed for 10 miles on one occasion!

Anyroadup, a video such as this RMSD may have already, and can be, used in a driving prosecution case.

Meanwhile, in Belgium.... Enjoy this! The BMW driver is a tit but Henri in the VW knows what he's doing.

Get stopped regularly do you? :p
Its good job its not by our resident anti speeding (ex) police officer,
or your'd be doing 10-15 by now,
and I don't mean MPH either :D

Unless of course you're an "expert" police driver in which case you're safe at 80 in a built up area...

....I'm glad to say that in my direct experience, Police officers vary in their attitudes and the good ones use their discretion based on a number of factors. The important thing is to drive according to a variety of road conditions (surely I don't need to list them) and safely for what your car can handle. With power comes responsibility. As said earlier I do not drive even a single mph above the limit in 20/30/40 zones but the 70 limit in the UK is generally somewhat archaic - Europe and specifically Germany is far more sensible in this respect. France is a bit draconian though. In my opinion which is doubtless different from some folks here, but not all.

The RM driver should have been banned and sacked. If he had caused an accident which resulted in someone getting killed, then he would have been looking at a long jail term for Causing death by dangerous driving.

Short term maybe......More likely a taxi home from court.

Looking on the lighter side, it proves that trucks don't need to take 17 miles to overtake each other...

....In Germany they call that 'elephant racing' :D. But, GENERALLY, the traffic is much better disciplined on the German autobahns and drivers don't hog the middle lane etc. The fact that you can be driving at around 130mph (and enjoying it legally!) and spot much faster autobahn-stormers approaching in your rear-view mirrors, tends to focus slower driver's minds. This is where DRLs (daylight running lights) come into their own as you can judge distance scale and hence approach times much more accurately than the glare of headlights.

There are a lot more police on the motorway than you think, they're not in jam sandwiches any more

Just lately I've seen loads of unmarked cars and not the usual merc/bmw/jags either

the driver didn't get the sack for that ,he got upgraded to delivering rubber bands to "archangel " from this forum
