Risk aware or a paranoid overreaction???

After all of the terrible US school killings by pupils in the recent past, I guess it's a case of "damned if you do and damned if you don't".
 
Weirdly, when I read this earlier, the sentence "Police spokesman James McLellan said that, throughout the interview, Ahmed had maintained that he built only a clock." was different, and said that the boy refused to explain the use of the item. Which was obviously "telling the time", wonder why it's been changed.
 
I think this is more related to all the school killings in USA than 9/11. However if you watch his video account online he says approximately "I didn't lock it because I didn't want it to look like a threat, I just closed it with a cable tie" . So there is something odd there - he seems to be saying he appreciated it could look like a bomb before he took it to school.
 
Sadly he's probably used to being viewed with suspicion every day.

Thing is, even if they thought it was a bomb where was the bomb squad? Why sit on it for a few hours.

Anyway tonnes of support for the kid, tours of Google and the Mars Rover offered. Even POTUS wants him to come to the WH..

Maybe the first statement was a lie to 'spin' the story in favour of the authorities. Just like the Met does when it shoots an innocent.
 
Now, I'm no expert bomb-builder, but my understanding is that a bomb requires a detonator and some explosives. How did so many people look at this thing and think "that's a bomb"? Are American really this stupi.... actually, don't answer that. ;)
 
if this was an episode of 'homeland' he'd now take a bomb to the white house :lol:
