RIPPED OFF?

Do you think closing the classifieds would have much of an impact on the overall number of visitors to the site?

Must add I have a fair number of trades. the latest being today which was excellent and its fine if you follow the guidelines. Would still come here without the buy/sell facility, but its a handy feature to have mainly because its safer than many others including Ebay.
 
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we might be closing it. Not that.
I'm merely saying that I'd be a less stressed man we'd be a much less-worked mod team without it. It's a pain in the jacksie.

We are discussing the idea of a minimum contribution in other areas before people can post in the classifieds, and maybe tie that in with PM ability too.
 
as Marcel has already pointed out, the problem is that people dont follow the rules, they are not hard to follow, we dont have hundreds of them (as some folk would have you believe) and they are there for good reason. There were 2 phone numbers in the original thread, Shell have you tried calling them??
 
Well I think as the for sale forums were intended for active/contributing members to sell bits of gear they no longer needed, I see no problem making access to them for selling a longer wait and more difficult to obtain.

Never. I hate pay pal and would never use them to sell anything. Very, very rarely are there issues on here like this so do not see how this would benefit anyone.

Some of us don't want to use Paypal. A direct bank transfer is fine IF you follow the guidelines.

That ad was placed on 21st Feb - before the ad on TP. It's marked as 'sold' on 24th Feb, which is the same day Michelle paid via the TP ad. The dates tie up so there could still be a good outcome to this.

Just been directed to this thread on here. Let me clear a couple things up.

No i havnt scammed you!
I was suspended so obviously couldnt replied.
I emailed you to the email address you use for paypal.
You paid me Friday(iirc) so atleast give me chance to send out the goods!
You rang me today and i told you what was going on, why didnt you do this before creating a thread?

It does put a slightly different light on things, but the hassle that you've received quiet frankly serves you right for screwing about with the trading rules.

You deserved everything that you got.
 
and to add to my post

Shell why havnt you come on here and cleared all this up after you spoke to me today?
Most of all WHY did you start this thread claiming to be scammed before you even contacted me?

and to the rest of you, fair enough people do get scammed but get a grip jumping to conclusions. The reason it was advertised on all those forums is because i am a long term member on most of them and i was trying to sell the items!

Whittie is genuinly a top lad and did me a massive favour albeit breaking the rules on this forum which i apologised for the suspension he got.

What hassle? I didnt even know about this thread till 5 minutes ago and 'deserve everything i got'? Its not affected me at all to be honest. Shes lucky i wasnt a real scammer as she was stupid enough to send the payment without question as a gift:thumbs:
 
I think this will now have a happy end if the two parties can continue to finish the deal in private, appologies for coming into a personal thread but at least you have come back J4m13 to try to clear things up

I apologise but im abit annoyed just for the fact that she didnt try contacting me before starting this thread, and hasnt even posted to clear this up. Im not bothered about myself more bothered for Whittie and everyone claiming us to be a scamming team:|

Credit to you for coming back here and letting people know what's going on...it's a shame you had to do it rather than Shell who'd started a thread which was only ever going to go in a negative direction. I'm amazed she voiced her concerns here in the manner she did before making any attempt to contact you directly. I hope you both end up happy with the outcome and continue to get something out, and perhaps put something back into, the TP community :thumbs:

Spoke to her on the phone this afternoon just gone and its getting sent out as soon as.
 
Right, I think its safe to say we can close this thread for now. Jamie, thankyou for clearing things up. The sales thread is reopened so all parties involved, and I do mean those involved, can keep us updated.

The situation can be reviewed once the camera has been received and let this be a lesson to everyone, the guideline are there to protect everyone, buyers and sellers, please use them.

If you can forward that onto one of the mod team that will be looked into. That sort of thing will see someone's account closed down immediately. PM me for email addy if you want.
