On the 10th of this month i agreed a deal with a forum member and set up a bank transfer immediately, which he received the funds 2 days later, to which he sent me a PM to confirm, he said he would dispatch the item first thing the next morning.
i waited 4-5 days and still didnt receive the item, so i sent him a PM,
he said sorry, ive been ill i will send it out recorded delivery first thing next morning you shall have it buy next day after, ok cool (fair enough ), 4 days later still no item?

so another PM goes out to him " where's my item?"
response was, sorry ill send it our to you first thing in the morning, sorry to mess you about ,

now that was a week ago and still no item?!?

i sent another PM 2 days ago and haven't received a reply yet.

this has pi55ed me off no end, and hope it will get resolved!

but im impatient and want everything to be delt with quickly.

is 20 days a long time to wait for something?

and 3 separate promises?

do you think ive been done?

rant over  maybe not:bat:

I wouldn't say your been impatient, 20 days is more than enough time to send out an item, even if they have been ill. Plus three separate messages saying it will be posted, sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Are you not going to name and shame?

To ensure no one else deals with him / her. Or do you want to wait until it is resolved.

no names as of yet mate,

im going to wait untill i get a response from him first

but he has "been here a while" so its not like i took a risk with a nOOb

Best not name and shame till you're certain, if anyone has any reason to be worried about a deal, I'm sure DoubleT will be willing to give them the persons name in a PM.

Thats a right b****r I hope it gets resolved soon
You have had a few "promises" and have been very patient. Now I think
Its time to put a little pressure on after all its been ( all but) 3 weeks.

Don't worry, it's something we're looking at.

To be fair, we've been online for 3 years now, and this is only the second trade we know of thats gotten a bit iffy, so forgive the lack of urgency  :D

Its definitely on the to do list once we sort the server issues out :)

you might consider informing your alleged supplier that (s)he has until ..... to deliver or be named/shamed on the forum:thinking::rules:

Hi,

funnily enough if it's the same person I have just had a look for then his/her Flickr pics for the item I think you bought have disappeared too,

Mike.

ok thanks for your replies guys.

ive sent another PM to him, with a read notification so that i can see when he reads it ( it hasnt been opened yet and its been 24 hours)

ill be interested to see when he reads it, then i will pounce on him if he doesnt respond

.no not really, i parted with £30 but thats beside the piont,

maybe turn this item into more expense than i was hoping, cause i still want it, and its gunna cost me an extra £30 on top to get it.

the bloke sounded very sincere.

i hope hes ok

30 quid is expensive. hmm i guess you arnt protected by ur bank for this sort of purchase?

ouch, i hope it gets sorted out soon, there's always one 'bad egg' who spoils it for anyone else who's honest etc.

bear in mind that if he has his pm notification send to email he may be able to read the content of the pm without actually opening it. I know that is what happens with some other forums I'm on - it copies the PM into the notification.

I've not had one from here so I don't know if it applies :)

It may just be that his illness has worsened and he's unable to respond at the moment. Maybe?

Hi,

Re; the pics comment I made, I just mentioned it in case it highlighted the fact that he might have 'left' the site if you know what I mean and had closed his flickr account as well, that's all.

Mike.

DoubleT check to se that your PMs are still there, after yesterdays move some/all PMs got deleted and you may have to resend.

How did you pay for the item? if by paypal then you have his name & address and can send a snail mail or look up his phone number and call him.

i paid by bank transfer becasue i wanted it quickly

Ive got his address now (roughly) thanks to another forum member, and i also have an E-mail address so shall try and contact him through there.

:bat:

ok, turns out it may be lost in the post :(

was sent out 2 weeks ago, and other people had recieved their items but not me :(

lack of response was due to him moving house and having lack of internet.

hes offered a full refund though.

gutted :(

I'm glad that it's all sorted, no good for either of you having it go missing but top marks to your seller for taking the cost on himself.

If he/she has proof of postage, they should be able to claim against Royal Mail.

I am the person in question.

As already posted, illness and moving house havent helped this situation, i had posted the item through my work, we have checked our records and everything that was sent that day has been recieved, so im not sure whats happened to it.

I had removed the pictures from my Flickr as i had sold and posted the item.

I have kept DoubleT in the loop as much as possible, having no net access hasnt helped.

I cant afford to buy another bag for him so have offered a full refund.

Think the thread title needs changeing.

Dizzle(etc) hope you're well now and the move was smooth.

This problem is still going on.
after countless PM's and false promises for over 4 months!.

ive never had an untrustworthy seller through the internet and im quite upset to find my first one in the great community.

Wow. Sorry to read this. It's always going to be a problem when the forum gets bigger. Shame really, but nothing much we can do about it. :(

Maybe come up with a system and mods hold the money in "escrow" while the item is in transit, then the mod will pass on the money once the buyer confirms receipt. But this opens a new can of worms, and mods providing an extra service.

No excuse for this dizzledazzle, £30 might inconvenience you but it isn't going to bankrupt you.

If you have checked your records and they have shown items to be delivered, you must have a tracking number therefore show it and prove you are telling the truth :thumbs: that way you will be believed

I have to agree - the way this has dragged on reflects no credit on the seller at all.

If like Marcel says this is only the 2nd problem in 3 years moderating every sale is creating an awful lot of work that isn't really required, i've been trading on various forums for at least 10 years without a single problem. Now ebay on the other hand :bang:

If dizzledazzle sent the item by royal mail it's automatically insured for the price of 100 1st class stamps which is £36 so why didn't he claim for a lost package from RM
