So sad, grew up with Sabbath
 
One of the last great rockers. He never seemed like one for being pretentious. He just was what he was.
 
I bought the first three albums as they came out which led to one of my early bands being compared to Black Sabbath - in fact our signature song was called Paranoia - and that band led directly to the band Killing Joke fronted by Jaz Coleman, who was our keyboards player on Moog and Hammond. Ozzy was unique, a one of a kind sort of chap. I doubt he'll climb out of his coffin again though.
 
I am surprised he lived this long and boy did he live , RIP Ozzie .
 
You don't have to be a Heavy Metal fan to understand the massive influence he had on rock music, a sad loss.

True fact - the first ever Black Sabbath gig was held less than 1/2 a mile away from my house.... They announced the name change from Earth to Black Sabbath at a youth club called Banklands.....

I've not a heavy metal fan..... I was more into Bowie and T-Rex and then got into punk music.... My favourite bands being The Damned and Killing Joke...... And my favourite version of Paranoid was recorded by The Dickies.....

First heard Killing Joke in 1980 and.... Love their music and I think Jaz Coleman is another one of a kind..... Punk musician and classical composer.....
 
He was an odd cooky but no-one could deny he had the talent, late in life it all went a bit odd and the TV "The Ozzbornes" made for laugh out lowd or cringe buy 76 its not bad considering his past, rest up mate.

Lemmy kinda did as well

Motörhead did embark on a final tour, the "40th Anniversary Tour," before Lemmy's death. This tour, which also supported their final album "Bad Magic," included dates in North America and Europe. The final show of the tour, and indeed the band's last ever, took place in Berlin on December 11, 2015, just two weeks before Lemmy's passing
 
Black Sabbath was a bit before my time, but I grew up knowing about them. And as for 'The Osbournes', probably the best and funniest reality tv show worth watching.

I have just been informed that a large percentage of the profit from his last show went to a children's charity and a Parkinsons charity

As a music lover and amateur musician I've always found it incredibly upsetting when a music legend passes away.
I still remember the day my mum woke me up for school and also telling me that John Lennon was dead.
I was at work when we heard on the radio that Freddy Mercury had passed.
I read the headlines on the BBC website as part of my morning routine.
The day it said David Bowie had passed away I swear my jaw could have hit the ground.
I could list many more but there are quite a few legends we will still lose.
Ozzy gave us some top notch music along with great sense of humour.
