RIP Ryan Dunn

I have no sympathy for drink drivers, but do for his family. More shocking than all of this is a bit from page two of the story linked above
Attorney Dawson R. Muth, of the West Chester firm of Goldberg, Meanix, McCallin & Muth, said Wednesday after learning Dunn’s alcohol level that it would not be out of the question for Hartwell’s family to wage a successful lawsuit against the owners of whatever establishment Dunn had been drinking at in the time prior to the fatal accident.

I have encountered it first hand, drink driver kills himself/herself in car crash on more than one occasion and its not very pretty and not once has me or a member of my team said "served them right, does he/she deserve to be in a cozy box in the ground, dont be so ****ing silly.

Very stupid, very thoughtless and careless but knowone deserves that (with exception of kiddy fiddlers of course) as many have already said, this was started as a RIP thread not a oppertunity to slate him, if you dont want to send a condolance message or have any nice words to say then maybe you should start your own thread.

Just me saying what everyone else is thinking but too scared to say it how it is in fear of upsetting the mods.

Huh? So you can wish a "kiddy fiddler" dead but not someone who risks the life if himself and others through their own selfish actions?

Interesting that you also feel you are able to speak for "everyone else".

I may be headed down the wrong path here, but that sounds like you have experienced it as part of a paramedic/police team? I'm not talking about seeing one in their car with limbs pointing in funny directions, I'm talking about having to walk up to a grave of a loved one and place flowers having had them taken waaaaaay too soon by someone selfish enough to drink too much alcohol and then drive.

If you think I'm, to quote, '****ing silly' that is entirely up to you and I have no problems with that what so ever.

Just a shame you couldn't express your point without the need for abusive language or insults.

Sorry, I should have made myself a bit more clear, I have experianced it, I lost a family member, I am also someone that has attended many an incident involving drink drivers both dead and alive through a role that I am not going to disclose on here, its **** at both ends of the stick and would not wish it on anyone, I know the pain people go through and if thats a pain you have gone through then I am truely sorry.

As for the abusive language and insults, I find this very hypercritical as your post regarding "cozy in a box" is an insult its self !

I was simply expressing my opinion. One I happen to know several other people who have been unfortunate enough to endure the same anguish also hold. It doesn't make me any more right or wrong than anyone else, it's just an opinion.

It's clear it can't be expressed without attracting insults, so I'm done.
 
I have no sympathy with people who die doing illegal actions. He could easily have wiped out a family car instead of hitting a tree, whatever he was before, he was a complete idiot. Who knows, had he made it back home ok, he would have probably done the same next week and maybe killed someone then.

In a similar way, a burglar has apparently died in Manchester - GOOD! No doubt the family will be saying what a good lad he was too.

The other person as far as we are aware, was not kidnapped or tied up in the boot against his will. He willingly got in the car with someone over the limit. No sympathy for passenger either.
 
I've held of on posting to this thread as I wasn't sure if any else held the same beliefs as I do.

Ryan Dunn brought laughter to many and for that he should be respected, but, the moment you jump into any vehicle, drive well over the speed limit under the influence of alcohol, kill yourself and a friend all respect goes out the window.

Any person stupid enough to drive a car drunk is a fool, it could easily have been another car he hit killing numerous others and that is unforgivable.

Yes condolances to his family as it is never pleasant to lose a loved one but the man was a fool.
