As no one else has started it I thought I'd make a thread to remember Ryan Dunn. He brought me many laughs in my teen years and will be missed!
Indeed very sad news...![]()
But its ironic (think thats the correct word) how he risked his life doing crazy crazy things and walked away from them, and then he loses his life in a car crash..
Such a shame.
I feel more sorry for the passenger he also killed by being a mindless idiot, drink driving and driving at speeds of 120mph?....He gets no praise from me.
Was he making him drink and then drive a car too?
Without knowing the situation I cannot make any assumptions on the cause of the crash. He will be missed, he was a very funny guy and lived life to the full. If it was speed or drink related this kind of thing happens every day, it just isn't publicised as much, maybe it would raise awareness of how important safe driving is. Regardless, he will be sadly missed, RIP.
Thank you for getting things back on track, I saw red for a minute![]()
It was merely my personal opinion which I am entitled too and was hardly off topic?
Yes, it is a shame he died. But in my opinion he died from making a choice and therefore his death could have been prevented and that choice was to knowingly drink and drive at illegal speeds. The only reason you are being defensive about him is because he is famous and you liked him, despite the fact he put his life and many others at risk from being a mindless idiot! I'm sure that if it was someone you knew killed by him you would not be feeling the same way.
Also, the reason I do not have alot of praise for him is because i'm the one who has to see the results of the inconsiderate people who decide to drink and drive and injure themselves and other people.
but a thread respecting his memory after his recent death is not the place, in my opinion, to tarnish that memory.
If in fact that's confirmed to be what happened.
and until it is then comments that some are making really have no place in this thread.
If it's any consolation to those questioning the (now rather irrelevant) matter of whether he was drunk, the police report from the incident had no mention of DUI playing a part in what happened.
the fact at the moment is that there's a reasonable amount of evidence to suggest he was driving under the influence of alcohol when the accident took place.
If he is found guilty the way some on here act, you would think that he deserved to die because of it. Loss of life is loss of life no matter how it happens.
I certainly wouldn't say he deserved to die but he could have perhaps avoided killing himself and his friend.
My point is the sometimes "hero worship" can mask how bad something really is, for example if some dole scrounging layabout had done the same thing a) there wouldn't even be a thread about it and b) most, if not all of us wouldbe saying "serves him right"

Not a smart thing to do drink driving, but did he deserve to die because of it? Obviously not.
*snip*
you deserve nothing more than a nice cosy box buried in the ground.

Ps. not a personal attack, just a personal opinion![]()
if you are stupid enough and selfish enough to drink and then drive, you deserve nothing more than a nice cosy box buried in the ground.
I am trying to think of how to reply to this, but there is nothing that can be said for the idiocy of that quote!
If you don't agree, that's fine. You have an opinion as do I. I've encountered it first hand. I doubt you have (given your stance).
There-in lies the difference in opinion I suspect.
It would be a boring world if we all held the same view on everything![]()
Obvious? Really?
How many people could he have killed rather than hit a tree if, as alleged, he was in fact drinking prior to driving?
Well, I've been on this forum since it started & you've won the prize for the most ridiculous/crass/idiotic post I've ever read![]()
if you are stupid enough and selfish enough to drink and then drive, you should expect nothing more than a nice cosy box buried in the ground and hope you don't take anyone else with you.
No offence but this is an R.I.P thread for someone who made a lot of people happy. Whilst I will never condone drink driving, I think that some comments made here show a remarkable amount of poor taste.
I'm sure the OP would never have made the post had he/she realised how it was going to turn out.
